I used to not like this song that much but once I read the lyrics and started listening to it better I liked it better.

Its the only song from Joanne I still listen to.

The bridge and outro are some of the best musical moments Gaga has ever done

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

Because people on GGD prefer songs like HML... :poot: no lyrics at all but a cool beat lol.

Hey Girl is one of the best songs she has ever made, i mean it features Florence, what else do ya want?

The lyrics are awesome and the vocals too. I don't get why it gets so much hate tbh, i really wanted it at the JWT... (at least as an interlude).

I really don't understand the hate that it gets. Really :madge:.

The only thing that I don't like about it is that the beat is a copy of an Elton John song. But I do love it and it's one of my faves from Joanne.

GGD doesn't like it because a lot of people's musical taste is limited. They can only get into heavy beats and a "dark" theme and they think it makes them "edgy".

It's a matter of tastes and opinions. The two songs I don't like from Joanne are Hey Girl and Sinner's Prayer, and I don't know why, they just didn't grow on me:huh:

I don't really like the song,but that's just my opinion,and it's certainly not a bad song,nor a bad message.

I love the production, it's kind of intimate. If it was an upbeat pop song I think it would've sounded shallow and cringey.

For real!

It's like Prince meets Elton John with Gaga and Florence's amazing talents in singing and songwriting over it. It kicks ass tbqh. I wish she would've found a way to do it at the JWT. I get that it isn't quite as easy as, say, cutting R. Kelly's verse from DWUW, but I think she could've at least sung it solo or had Hillary or a backup singer fill in or something
