She said this to silence the Taylor and Gaga reunion stories in the press.

Or maybe she said it because she feels comfortable enough to talk about him publicly now and doesn't give a damn about what tabloids are saying.

No matter what she says I can't stomach the fact that he was 18 years old when she was born. Makes him seem like an old man preying on young women. But if she's happy oh well and she should do what makes her happy. Our opinions don't matter. I've never understood younger females liking older men but people have their own tastes.

I'm in total agreement. Sure, I understand where the attraction lies. Older men can be really attractive, sexy, confident, generous, mature. But you'll ultimately never be on the same wavelength as someone old enough to be your dad. I mean, I could never date a man 18 years younger than me because I'd feel like his mother and I'm definitely not into that. I want to mother younger men, not fall in love with them. So, I can't understand why men approaching their 50's genuinely want a woman who's barely out of her 20's. Yeah, the superficial and physical doesn't mean anything when you simply can't connect in any other way. I'm only 27 and the idea of dating a guy who's more than a couple years younger than me freaks me out already. The idea of dating a 31 year old when I'm 48 is not happening.

I want Gaga to be happy and find a guy who she'll be with forever. And I don't think a man who's old enough to be her dad is going to end well. If she wants kids, he's going to be a very old father and he'll be wanting to kick back and relax in a few years while she'll still be trucking on with her career. I can't help but think that she just jumped into the first chance of a relationship she got post-Taylor and wants to stick with it because she wants to maintain the feeling of being with someone. If he was her own age, I'd have absolutely no problem with it, but I hope she doesn't throw away too many years of her life on him. I thought it was just going to be a quick fling, but no, she seems very serious. If she gets engaged again, I'm worried it's going to end in another called-off wedding and I don't want that for her. Surely there must be a good, solid guy in his 30's who's in her inner circle somewhere? I can't believe this amazingly gorgeous, talented, kind-hearted woman has had to make do with a boyfriend who's old enough to be her dad. That can't be the only/best offer she's had, surely?

Gosh, I'm so happy to see they are still together. It's  been awhile since we've heard about christian.

Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

I, too, can genuinely understand the attraction that some younger women have for olden men - especially women like Gaga who had emotionally distant fathers growing up and now want to fill that void with a partner. People may think it's gross but it makes sense to me. The kids thing is weird to me too. I have a feeling she still wants kids and if she has one with him when she's like 34 (just throwing that out there), he will be well into his 50's. Also seeing how much time he is spending with her these days on tour makes me suspicious of him as a father. I hope he's not some deadbeat dad who barely remembers he has a daughter.

Yeah, but I also think that a grown adult will realise where this want stems from and suppress it. Entering into a relationship because you know daddy issues are behind it is creepy. I definitely don't agree with huge age gaps between parents. Not to be morbid, but growing up knowing that there's a huge chance that one of your parents is going to die a lot sooner than the other just shouldn't be a burden that anyone should have to bear. Yeah, I think a young man wanting to follow his girlfriend around on tour is fine but an older man tends to want to escape that circus a bit and yes, you'd hope that if they had a kid, he'd want to stay at home looking after it when Gaga tours instead of going on the road with her. And don't know how fans found this out but they said that apparently, Christian's previous girlfriends have all been much younger than him. That's a big red flag right there. And a string of exes (and all of them girlfriends, not fiances or wives, despite his age) suggests that he's not into commitment and is happy dating women for a few years at a time then moving on. I'm just getting bad vibes from their union. I don't want this to be another 5 year relationship that ultimately ends in tears. Gaga deserves a man her own age in his prime who can give her everything she wants.

I feel the same way.. makes me nervous he might be looking at her and seeing $$$$$  BUT BUT BUT that's my opinion.. if shes happy good for her. Has a little monster I feel we always are Gaga's 1st and most important love :)

Well, he makes more than Kinney, if that seems to be a concern.

He's intelligent, charming and articulate unlike Kinney who was only interested in motorbikes and shooting the beer cans off his porch.

I have never seen/heard him speak before, are there any interviews or videos out there?

Does Gaga really have daddy issues though?? I can understand how girls who didn't have very involved fathers growing up may be attracted to older men in order to fill that void, but this isn't something I expected from Gaga....:S Gaga's parents never divorced, so her dad was always around. And she seems extremely close with him and always has.....

He's not exactly a celebrity. People don't put his appearances on You Tube.

But he's one of the best in what he does. He's a top agent at the top agency. You'd think he knows how to negotiate, communicate, sweet-talk all the involved sides. There's a few pictures of him at the several high profile receptions mingling with a tough Hollywood crowd.

Just like her, he made it to the top of his profession.

Maybe she does, maybe she doesn't, I wouldn't really know for sure. Based on a lot of private things she has revealed in interviews this era about the trauma of her dad losing his sister and how deeply that impacted their family, there is at least something there. A child can have divorced parents and still have a healthy relationship with both of them, and a child can have parents who are still married and have a terrible relationship with one or both of them. From an outsider's perspective yes it seems that she and her dad are close now, but that is what we see on the surface. She has spoken quite a bit about how growing up he was very emotionally distant and would get angry all the time (trauma etc), but would never explain to her what was going on, etc. It can add up over time.

I believe that on her last Howard Stern interview they spoke about her having daddy issues.

Y'all are acting like he's 80 years old lol. She's an adult, it's not like she's 16 and he's 50. I think he was touring with her before they started dating (he's in a lot of old pics. Maybe it's part of his job?) I'm pretty sure he's rich too (not as rich as her but I doubt he's hurting for money) As for what kind of father he is idk but his kids have been photographed with them multiple times so he obviously spends time with them. Has he had that many girlfriends? I thought he had been married for like 18-20 years? And only "dated" that Walking Dead girl (not sure just read it on here) He worked with Gaga before they started dating so she already knew him, and obviously there was an attraction there. I'm sure he's a decent guy or she wouldn't be with him. I don't think dating an older guy automatically equals "daddy issues"?

So many age gaps like this don't work out, though. I've rarely seen them last more than a few years. It's a slow realisation that you have very little in common. Because I was a child of older parents (38 and 39 respectively, when I was born), I've grown up in a family surrounded by men aged 40-65. That's given me all the education I need when it comes to older men. They turn grumpy, they get argumentative, they always think they're right. And all their wives say the same thing: "He wasn't like this when he was younger." So, while I've never dated an older man, I've certainly felt like a long suffering wife for years. Seeing what women put up with from older men has put me off any notion of trying it out. I dread growing up to experience that in my middle aged years. I'm certainly not putting up with it in my young years. I sometimes feel like a lot of women who date older men come from quite young families and have very limited experience with much older men and therefore have no idea of the reality that awaits them. Older men aren't all about treating you to expensive dinners, shopping sprees and great sex. They're also grumps who turn into their fathers after a certain age. Why have that when you can have a hot, sexy guy full of energy your own age?
