Is Taylor going to re-peak?

The 1989 era was absolutely huge. Massive hype, massive videos, massive singles and a massive record breaking tour. The album being pop also pushed her internationally.

Months after twitter and salty fanbases informed us her career was dead, she came back with LWYMMD and is slaying everything. The song got a really lukewarm reception, but its stats are huge and the video just broke the most watched YouTube video (not just Vevo) in a day, seemingly doing much better than Shake It Off and is projected to pull pre streaming era numbers in sales.

A lot of eras started huge like this to then turn out to be a disappointment globally compared to the previous one (PRISM, BTW (don't @ me),etc), but do you think she will be able to outdo 1989 and re-peak? Or even beat Adele like HDD is saying she could?

maybe. apparently Adele and Taylor are the only female popstars the GP cares about, so they funnel all their coins and streams to them.

Yea I think Taylor hit that Beyonce/Adele status where she can drop stuff and people just eat it up. I dont think anyone outside of twitter actually cares or knows about her beef.

I mean after LWYMD (which i think took barely any effort during recording), expect the unexpected. Fearless was her peak , she followed up with Speak Now and RED which did not top Fearless commercially but then 1989 came and so who knows maybe Reputation can reach new heights. Let's not forget Adele sold like crazy two years ago. It is not like the world is against supporting a female artist. So if Tay can convince people to pay up, Reputation could outsell 1989.

absolutely, unless she decides to quit music (unlikely).

Pop stars go through so many peaks, and she is a powerhouse in terms of sales and her brand, so undoubtedly she will peak again in the future. That is to say if this era isn't a peak in and of itself. It's too early to tell; just because critics are dragging her doesn't mean it won't be successful as hell.

I think she will and she deserves it. That girl works hard. Her team is genius. They always have a good marketing and perfect timing! If you wanna have a massive album cycle you gotta deliver and she does that (even tho I'm not a fan of hers)

I think it could happen. I legit thought we would never have an era as successful as 1989 from anyone again, because even Adele didn't have as big if an era, but I think she might do it.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

I'm not going to say anything since the 1989 era was HUGE, I'd wait until the second single.

Reputation isn't gonna flop tho, so all those salty Twitter stans can stay pressed.

I'm just jealous of her promo team lol

She was so annoying back to the 1989's era because she was every f***in' where.

^^this. We all have to admit, Taylor works a lot harder than Gaga commercially. This is fairly obvious when Gaga released PI as a lead single and then did nothing for it. Gaga wanted MR to catch on, and it did because she worked at it. Gaga could be huge, but she doesn't have the desire to be anymore. It's sorta Taylor's thing to be on top of the world, and her team assures that.

I think it would be hard for first week sales of Reputation to match 1989's. Even if Reputation is better than 1989, I just think numbers like 1989/25 are impossible these days.

But, her singles could beat 1989's singles (like LWYMMD beating SIO), so it depends on which way you look at the era to decide if it outpeaked a previous era.

I've also talked to some major Swifties and we all think she may do an arena tour to make the shows more personal since she is showing such a different side of her this era. I hope she does two arena shows per city rather than one big stadium show.

Gaga has experienced a lot . Maybe she knows we love real and simple music and strong vocal since oscar. Gaga and Taylor are doing well in different ways. Taylor is young though she debut before Gaga .

Well it's hard to say she works harder (instead of smarter) imo, bc if Gaga had two massive feuds & used it in her material I bet she'd sell better too. MR was performed 300 times, she did the Super Bowl and Coachella, she's promoting haself hard

Yeah that's a very good point!

But I actually think this time around she's going to do an all stadium tour in the US. A few months ago there was this tumblr post from a girl who said her father worked at a stadium (I know :rip:) and that they were in talks with Taylor's team to book it, and another person from another city said something similar and they had receipts (let me see if I can find it). And there was also a local newspaper article saying their stadium was getting booked for her tour. So yeah, I think she's going for stadiums :/
