It's the same feeling when one of your friend trying to be entertaining when you and group of friends walking on the street and it ended up with awakward silence cos somehow it is not funny at all when he said it, but when another friend said the same joke in another time, it just feel more genuine and actually laugh worthy. VMAs are on their way out and they are wanting to salvage some of the original audience so they didn't get someone like Miley to host. When it's all said and done, Miley makes the show more interesting when she hosts, but people just got tired of her being trashy and employing cultural appropriation to remain relevant. There really was nothing about this year that made them worth watching. There were a few surprisingly good performances like Logic & P!nk's performances, but most people watched the show to see Taylor's new vid tbh.
