My Friends Don't Understand My Love for Gaga

Today I was talking with my friends about how to reduce stress and anxiety from your life. I said to my friends that one of the most helpful things for me when I feel sad or depressed, is to either listen to Lady Gaga's music or watch her live performances or interviews. I said to them that Lady Gaga is so much more than just a musician. She stands for accepting yourself and being brave and kind to one another. And she stands for so much more.

First of all, my friends don't really  know a lot about Lady Gaga other than her music and how she looks and what she wears. So of course I knew that they wouldn't understand how I feel. I said that I wouldn't be the same person without her. She has helped a lot. They were shocked when I said that Gaga is as important to me as my family is.

Has any of you had the same problem? How can you explain your love for Gaga for your friends and family?

i literally just keep dropping my friends updates about gaga, even really irrelevant stuff that only stans would know and over time, they've learned that she's a real sweetheart but i'm also lucky to have the type of friends who'll listen to what i have to say even if they don't care  

they loved it when i told them about the "f*ck her face" lyrics in pokerface

I personally dont place popstars above my friends and family, however, I still love the whole fame and celebrity culture. I do completely understand why she is such a big influence to many people though, so tell them once, tell them twice and if they still judge you then ignore them, your experience with gaga is your own personal thing.

Nope, I havent even tried to tell my friends  Some of them know I like her but they dont know that I'm obsessed.

I hope there will be at least 1 Little Monster/someone who listens to Gaga's music in my next class

Almost every ghay I know is somehow a fan of Lady Gaga even the ones from school

It was like that in high school. However, now I study theatre and litterature, and I'm sure she's lowkey worshipped  amongst the people in my program

I used to try to show my family in subtle ways (without exposing my love for gaga) that Gaga was a good person musically, but the didn't budge. They're strict Christians. Last year they found out I was a LM and they tried many ways to convince me Gaga was a bad person. I later on this year pretended that I hated Gaga. But my sister has some speculations...I really don't care what they think of me anymore.
