Why is she flexing her voice so much?

I think it's so interesting that she's flexing her voice so much recently and really trying to do something that she hasn't really done before. The sustained falsetto in recent Edge of Glory performances really has me shook.

Do you think she's rehearsing for something behind the scenes (like she did for the Oscars), which is making her voice sound so good and improving her range?

We've always realistically heard persistently great vocals, but they've honestly never been on this level and I don't think it's an accident.

Thoughts?

I think she's using the tricks she picked up since the C2C tour. Tony must be a master at knowing how to keep your voice healthy for an extended period of time, and she worked with him for months. Add to that the extensive vocal training she did for The Sound of Music, the National Anthem and the Super Bowl, she must know exactly what to do to keep kicking ass every night. She didn't have any of the above for her last tour.

I've noticed this too.

Maybe she is just spicing things up, having fun reaching for different notes, creating different melodies, harmonizing etc. She's certainly grown as a vocalist which I'm so proud of.

I think that with this tour she has finally re-embraced being a pop singer, in a sense that she doesn't feel limited by the format of the show anymore, and that's why she is trying something new. This is like her first pop tour with a new team, and she seems to be getting so much pleasure from doing what she was born to do :kara:

Her voice is becoming better and better every year, she does something new everytime... It's not specific to now.

Singing Perfect Illusion is beyond every Anthems and hard-to-sing songs

It's called improvisation and it's mostly a jazz thing.  She's more comfortable with her ear because of Tony.

I think she's doing it more now because she knows this tour is her pop comeback tour. She knows all eyes are on her and she just did cheek to cheek so she wants to blow people away now that she's fully capable after vocal training. Plus she's extra af hahaha
