This "dark" vibe she's trying to pull off doesn't really suit her. It looks very try hard imo. 

The beginning seemed kind of promising, but it's a let down song once it hits the chorus. Even her sweetest candy country songs are much better than this.

her album theme seems to be about taking control of her image. 

I think as a lead it works because it's hard to know what she's trying to do now. it has power which doesnt really pay off. i dont think its an error. i think its about flex, tbh. iow with the production she's carrying the meaning of the lyrics, as in i can do what I want and win. taking back the keys so to speak. 

so, I doubt it will be the strongest song on the album but I think it will generate interest for the drop. who is the new taylor iow.

I want to say that I like it, but right now it's a bit difficult to do so. I think it has potential, but it reminds me of Hallmark Tim Burton right now. It's got a decent beat, and she's in luck, bc I don't mind how the song can sound nasty but, I think it's really a new kind of song, depending on the person.

WTF were people expecting from the SHAKE IT OFF creator????? The song is ****ing good but it will obviously receive a ton of hate only and just because it's Taylor's

The problem with pop stars at the level of Taylor or even Gaga is that LITERALLY everything they do is going to be put on a microscope and musically speaking people are going to expect something very specific from them but the second they notice something's different BOOM they will hate it and call it garbage. 

Some people are calling the song not relatable as if people don't do mean **** and then karma gets them. The song is about is so ****ing relatable but since PEOPLE are saints in their own eyes then they think the song isn't for them. And phonetically speaking they say it's mediocre or average at best  Wtf are these people talking about??? Has anyone actually wrote a ****ing song and turned it into a ****ing smash hit like Taylor has??? The song is a pop song. So relax this isn't some Björk or Radiohead ****. It serves its purpose: being played on the mainstream media and entertain the masses.
