Robagaga 9,345
Hurricane Harvey is barreling towards the texas coast, and is predicted to be at least a category 3 MAJOR hurricane upon landfall. It is expected to make landfall near corpus Christi but the whole of the texas coast from Corpus Christi till Louisiana including Houston will be affected. The last time a major hurricane hit texas was in 1999 with hurricane Bret. This storm however is predicted to be much much muuuuuch worse than hurricane Bret for various reasons. First of all the hurricane is predicted to affect a much more populated area than hurricane Bret did. Hurricane Bret hit a mostly deserted area, while Harvey will most likely hit near large population centers which are Corpus Christi, Houston and even San Antonio Also this storm is going to pack a much bigger punch . This is because of the large amounts of rain trapped in the storm. It is predicted some isolated areas could get up to ONE METER of rainfall totals. The areas in pink and red will be the ones receiving these huge rainfall totals. If you are in the red or pink areas GET OUT OR STAY SAFE. This storm is expected to linger around and not dissipate. Meaning these horrible conditions will for many last days instead of just a few hours. Finally if you are thinking: "oh this doesn't affect me I live in california" it will affect you. This area of the US has a third of the US oil refineries. Meaning you should get ready for a hike up in gas prices and gas shortages. This storm is going to be a really really bad one. In the same caliber as Sandy. It is most likely going to be the most devastating storm in modern Texan history. If you are in the affected area STAY SAFE OR EVEN EVACUATE IF YOU CAN !!!!!!! I will posting updates to this storm when I get them.
