We've all been hyperventilating about the documentary, the thought of getting to see behind the scenes at the Superbowl/making of Joanne has made us forget about Taylor. I suspect on the outside, it's lack of chart performance and popularity mixed with the difficulty of the vocals. But I imagine there's something personal along with it too. The long post she wrote about their breakup was written a long time ago, and none of us truly know what happened between them and where they stand now. Well, yes, but I think she made up explanations on the spot to ward off the potential controversy of exposing her ex, despite feeling an enormous amount of passion for the song and seeing it as the most marketable lead single.
