It's a Katy Perry video cranked up a few notches. If you like Katy's aesthetic/humor you'll probably like it. If you don't like Katy's aesthetic humor you won't.

Personally, while I appreciate the effort that's gone into the video, it didn't work for me. Humor is hard to get right, this just felt like juvenile jokes strung together to me... The story was boring and clichè, I didn't care if Katy's team lost and I didn't like many of the CGI parts - it looked bad and I don't care if that was the intention.

It's clearly a parody, she's not taking the criticism and hate too harshly, she's not playing the victim either, she's just having fun.

Actually yeah, y'all would prefer Taylor's approach, release a video with guns and violence and sh*t cause...duh...victim...it's her second name, and when called out for her sh*t she announces an album called...Reputation... Like you're a pop star try to make people feel better and have fun rather than to focus only on yourself and your petty feuds.

I guess a lot of you don't understand that Katy got a lot of critic and backlash this era, similar to Gaga during ARTPOP era, and this is her way to deal with all this negativity; she tries to laugh it off and use the critic as fuel for her work, which I think is a quite nice way to deal with it. Everyone has probably been in Katy's shoes once in a lifetime, being critized and hated to no end.

Don't forget she is a human like everyone here, with emotions, feelings, worries, dreams. With that in mind, at least to me, the music video makes a lot more sense. Applause to Katy for not giving up and working for her dreams.
