Yes..even the iconic PERFECT ILLUSION. Perfect Illusion had me as shook as when Bad Romance dropped... it was left-field of the pop scene, bombastic, over the top, incredibly energetic. She's never disappointed! ❤ x ❤

Especially if one of the songs is BTW which is a total Gaga anthem about unity Only a couple of countries understand the lyrics, and the sound was very impopular outside of the US. PLUS didn't Gaga release Eh, Eh in a few countries? DITD in a few countries? Monster in France? And I'm wondering if Boys Boys Boys wasn't released somewhere since it had an official single cover... If I had to keep it as objective as possible: The Fame 1.Just Dance #1 2.Poker Face #1 3.LoveGame #5 4.Starstruck (it's already Gold in the US and it had Flo Rida in it...) #4-#6 5.Paparazzi (when Gaga released BR Paparazzi was still rising so if she hadn't released BR immediately it would have peaked higher) #4 6.Boys Boys Boys (Radio used to play it even tho is wasn't an official single...) #6-#8 The Fame Monster 1.Bad Romance (maybe if released after Tik Tok dominating the charts, it would have gone #1 soo) #1 2.Telephone #3 3.Alejandro (It's her biggest hit in a lot of countries, especially Europe, so I wouldn't change anything about it. I'm gonna say tho that the video put some people off even tho I love it.) 4.Monster (Kind of like Boys, it's very radio friendly and catchy for the time and radio would play it sometimes even tho it wasn't an official single. The production is very Bad Romance.) #4-#6 5.Dance In The Dark (I don't think that it's as radio friendly as Monster or as catchy as Alejandro, but it has a better chorus than both of them and most people like it.) #5-#8 Born This Way 1.Born This Way (the song is a smash and if Interscope hadn't pushed Judas down radios throat even tho religious people were throwing law suits and sh*t, it would have stayed longer in the charts. Great lead single ) #1 2.The Edge Of Glory (Do I even have to explain why this song would have gone #1 with a better video and proper release...) #1 3.Marry The Night (Gaga's best song definitely deserved to be a single. After 2 consecutive #1 smashes it would have definitely done well. I mean, it stayed in the charts for more than PI even tho it was the last single of a controversial era.) #5-#6 4.Hair (Relatable. Catchy. Poppy. Radio Friendly. Peaked at #12 only on sales, when will Joanne's lead . I don't thing I need to say anything else.) #4-#6 5.Yoü And I (It would have been a last single after the first 4 being all definite hits. Idk about WW, but in the US it would have smashed even harder ) #5 ARTPOP So the era was delayed, it was supposed to begin Q1 of 2013. But I'm not gonna get into that, just saying that if it had gone according to plans singles and things in general would have been a different story. Anyway, keeping in mind that Gaga broke her hip and the era was delayed, these should have been the singles imo. 1.Applause (Released the week of the VMAs. The Katy Drama would have been no where as big. If released according to plans, with the video and the VMAs performance the same week, it would have had HIGH chances of debuting at #1.) #1-#2 2.Gypsy ( The most radio friendly relatable heartfelt song on the album. If released after Applause it would have been a sure top3 smash /) #3 3.Do What U Want ft. Xtina (Spring RnB smash/) #3-#5 4.MANiCURE (Most of the GP loves it and Billboard stans the song and even compared it to Poker Face. It's one of the most classic pop songs on the album) #6-#10 Joanne 1.A-Yo (It's as radio friendly as it get keeping in mind that it's from Joanne. Catchy af. The type of song the GP always eats up and Gaga loves it so it would have proably gotten a good video. If it had a video or a live performance its first week it could have even peaked at #5 tbh.) #5-#8 2.MR (Anyone who tracked MR knows how hesitant radio was to it, cause of the PI fiasco. Now imagine how much they'd support it after A-Yo being a moderate top5/top10 hit, and seeing how good MR was doing in sales. After the Super Bowl it would have definitely peaked at #2 with actual radio support. If you're overly positive you can even say at #1 ) #1-#2 3. John Wayne (The song would have ridden off the hype of the SB and with some Payola and promo it could have done decent.) #8-#15 4. The Cure (It at least needed a radio deal . If it had one, I could have seen it peak at sth like #8 tbh even without promo, I mean, it's almost Platinum SPS) I agree with all of these minus Hair. I think Hair is a bit too schmaltzy for most and a little everywhere. With that said, idk if I'd have dropped any other singles from the album anyway except maybe Scheiße as a promo. As a full-fledged single I think the gibberish is off-putting to some but it highlights the darker industrial side of the album well and puts her money where her mouth is in terms of weirdness not being very present in her music. Other than that, I agree with you both in list and in reason. You made some great compelling points here! Though, I may have stuck MTN second as I think it transitions well from BTW and then to TEOG really well. The disco sound of BTW to the disco-y funk of MTN to the pure arena pop of TEOG flow well if you listen to them back to back.

The song broke records. Changed lives like Marry The Night could not have. I highly doubt Marry The Night would have done as well as BTW. Also the Madonna controversy helped Gaga too let's not get carried away. Well Hair was released as a promo single and it peaked decently plus, let's be honest, it is one of the most radio-friendly tracks on the album. It also reminds me of TEOG, and it's a half ballad, so it could have come in handy in 2011 were Adele made ballads trendy . 2 hours ago, Ziggy said: Other than that, I agree with you both in list and in reason. I just don't think MTN could have gone #1 and it would have also hurt TEOG's chances of going #1, and I really wanted 2 #1 hits from BTW . And you, my friend, have taste BTW -> MTN -> TEOG really do sound good one after the other!
mic 1,415
I think the only mistake she made was G.U.Y. Other than that she had indeed many lost opportunities ( like Heavy Metal Lover, Speechless, Aura or Bloody Mary).
