I think part of it is that it deals with the aesthetics of the album though. The "cowboy" hat—the pink hat—that she always wears sort of gives that vibe, but I mean, other than that, I think it's just because country isĀ more prominent than it was in her previous albums.Ā 

I'd say that the only songs thatĀ I hearĀ country being a primary influence are Million Reasons, A-YO, and Sinner's Prayer. If I'm being completely honest, I don't see country influence in John Wayne, except for the fact that the song is named after a cowboy and the aesthetics of the song are cowboy-like. Sonically, I don't hear country. Grigio Girls has more prominent country vibes than JW, but I don't know, I don't necessarily see it as country.

I see the album as more of a rock/folk/jazz/country/pop album. A lot of genres, I know, but the album is really eclectic.Ā
