Obviously you don't want the opening night to be half empty ...... The decline is real. Prismatic tour was huge, this one is really struggling!

Where did people think that she'd cancelled more shows? Wikipedia changed it back to just the Buffalo date being cancelled, so maybe it was a misunderstanding.

But anyway, we've moved on to excuses about production delays now. First it was family commitments, now it's production delays. The next one might well be about how a certain arena was too small for the production design (seriously, this is a genuine excuse some artists have used). At the rate she's going, when she's actually on the tour, we might start hearing more excuses for "exhaustion." How dumb do these artists and promoters think we are? They plan these tours for months in advance, before tickets are even announced. Do they seriously think we'll believe that they overestimated how quickly they could pull this tour together? These are experienced people in this industry. They know how long they need to get everything in order. And they'll definitely know how unprofessional it is to delay the start of a tour and reschedule the opening dates. They've got a system in place to make sure this doesn't happen. Plus, why does it mysteriously only happen to dates that are struggling to sell? Yeah, just tell us the truth and stop pulling the wool over our eyes. This is going to reflect really badly on Katy and this might majorly put people off buying tickets now, even if you can get get $10 and bogof deals. For most people, the arena in question isn't just around the corner. They have to spend money on gas to drive out there or buy a train ticket and for those who live in states that don't have a date, they have to book hotels as well. All that isn't worth booking if your date may well end up rescheduled or cancelled. But, oh, well, as long as she still puts on this tour, it's going to reflect better on her than Justin Bieber. He cancelled the last 14 dates of his tour (13 of them at stadiums) because he apparently "got bored of it." I have no words for that. And I think he still takes the crown when it comes to Best Reason For A Cancelled Tour Date - being banned from performing in Oman for being too sexy. Honestly, I remember reading that news report when it happened. It even says it on Wikipedia on his Believe tour page under cancelled dates: Reason for cancellation - "deemed too sexy." :toofunny: So, yeah, in the grand scheme of things, it could be worse.

I never would have thought that the follow-up tour to Artrave would be selling better than the follow-up tour to Prismatic. How you can go from a $200 million world tour to struggling to sell out half an arena's tickets in your biggest market is mind-blowing. Gaga is genuinely more successful than Katy right now, in the US anyway. Million Reasons equalled Chained To The Rhythm's chart position. Perfect Illusion out-performed Bon Appetit and Swish  Swish's chart positions. Her album debuted with bigger sales and has sold more copies to date. Her tour went off without a hitch, she's not cancelled any dates so far and she's selling out basically everywhere, she can even do stadiums in the US, which Katy hasn't booked at all this era. I don't think anyone could have predicted after Prism vs. AP that Gaga was going to perform better next era. It really shows that generic people-pleasing pop and bright costumes can hold attention temporarily but that true talent pays off in the long run.

I think this tour has oversaturated the US market - she has multiple shows in many of the same cities, and many shows are a short distance drive. I will be going to the Orlando, FL show, but I hope the low ticket sales doesn't affect my show, the Tampa FL show (1.25 hours away) or Miami show (3 hours away), though it seems it could be likely.

Gaga had less than a month rehearse yet she still hasn't cancelled any shows.  Each of her shows has been sold out.

What's Katy's next excuse going to be?

I feel bad for her. First off, I think she knew that for years she would be able to keep her fame by releasing chart toppers so she started wondering if her fans and the world would still care about her if she wanted to make more art based music instead of chart based, and it seems like the answer is no. Then she sees that the majority of her "fans" were only there because of her commercial success. I don't mean to sound shady, but I'm really surprised how 2017 is going, I thought Gaga and Kesha would really suffer on their tours and Katy would thrive, but wow...
