n0ne 13,105
I saw the movie the other day and loved it. But that's not surprising since it looked great from the trailers, Christopher Nolan never fails, and it's been unanimously praised. I loved how the 3 narratives intertwine. I loved the cinematography and sound editing. I loved the special effects. I loved the sequences. The acting and script was flawless. The suspense and emotion/drama was on point. And Hans Zimmer once again provided a score that slayed. It was just an all around masterfully directed Nolan film that deserves its reception and award recognition. Imo it's one of the best war movies, one of the best movies of 2017, and one of Nolan's best movies. Do you want to see it? Have you seen it? Those of you who have seen it, what are your thoughts? Ferrer Zorola 3,966
I thought it was going to be bad bc of the inclusion of Harry Styles... it seemed cheesy but it's getting praised everywhere LIFE IS GOOD
RAMROD 109,378
It really does. It already tense since the beginning Also, glad it's not as gory as Saving Private Ryan does. That will just incite trauma to those who watches it, esp if they were actually in that war zone when they were young. Gagz4Gaga 7,278
I've watched it in an IMAX theater and it was glorious, shot after shot. Nolan and the team behind the film deserve Oscars for this achievement. nostalgia’s for geeks
Blake 7,385
Obviously went and saw it for Harry and for the fact it's a Christopher Nolan film, and it blew me away. It's probably the best movie made this year.
Sorcerer 12,487
It is technically beautiful and intense, but nearly devoid of human emotion, drama, situational and historical background, and characterization. Made me feel like watching a video game with people drowning and dying every second. The 3 narratives are interesting but when it goes all together, it seemed like it didn't pay off. The lack of drama might cost Nolan his Oscar. But it is still one of the better films this year. However, I think Call Me By Your Name and some other movies to be released in awards season will be better. It might win for technical Oscar awards tho. 23 minutes ago, RAMROD said: Also, glad it's not as gory as Saving Private Ryan does. And don't tell me Dunkirk is more impactful than Saving Private Ryan. You don't need to sacrifice reality to honor soldiers. Saving Private Ryan made grown men and grandfathers cry. Haven't heard about crying in Dunkirk.

Easy 5,298
The movie is so good I watched it multiple times in IMAX. It's so breathtaking! It's like a VR experience especially during the Air sequences. I'm not familiar with the history of Dunkirk but I really liked Nolan's approach. The movie was filmed in British perspective but he never really said anything bad about Germany. I heard from my British friend that the Dunkirk story is very commonly known. I also read interviews that the people who were involved in the incident said Nolan made it almost the same like WWII. People said they expected more violence coz they say it's a war film but I think Nolan did this movie right by portraying the story in a more dramatic way. Harry's performance wasn't bad at all. I see why Nolan casted him, he is very natural acting. Don't judge a book by its cover

totoro 82
The 3 narratives intertwine timelines were really confusing. But it was a good film overall. I think it could've done a better job at showcasing how truly horrible and desperate the situation was but it was a pretty amazing IMAX experience.
