3 by Britney Spears? Idk if it was scrapped or a standalone single.

y'all still acting like this is something special :poot:

every album has an "original" concept, sometimes the core of the concept stays the same, sometimes it does not

I'm just telling the rumors, I'm not "acring like it's something special".

But anyway it seems clear that it had nothing to do with Joanne with all the "art of darkness", "the countess inspired me"...

3 was only ever meant to be from the compilation album, The Singles Collection. Telephone and I Wanna Go were supposed to feature on there as well.

Whatta bout Pretty Girls what's the jush with that :oprah: I think somebody confirmed it already and Baby Don't Lie by Gwen Stefani

Pretty Girls was never tied to an album. It was thrown out there to test the waters, but there was no album to back it up. Had it been a hit (which was realistically never going to happen), an album would've been rush-created and released that it was in the same vein. Thank god it flopped!

Kylie's Aphrodite album originally had Too Much as the lead. Limbo was to be the lead of Impossible Princess, as well.

Rita Ora is one of the queens of scrapping lead singles.

She scrapped the lead single, I Will Never Let You Down from her second album. This album never got released because she broke up with Calvin, who she was dating at the time and he produced so many songs from her album and he banned her from using them, so she had to make a new album from scratch.

Then she scrapped Poison, the lead single from her revamped new album and that, plus its follow-up single, Body On Me, sold so badly that the album never got released either. She got out of her contract shortly after and had to start a whole new album on a new label.

She's now technically working on album #4 even though she's not even released a second album. Her lead single, Your Song, was a good hit for her in the UK, she might finally release something at long last. But I still won't hold my breath.

Yeah, apparently there was an album penned before The Fame with Retro Physical as lead, circa 2007.

Radioactive was meant to be Marina's lead single from Electra Heart but then it became just a bonus track.

I don't think Britney and Katy count. Britney's manager confirmed before she released it that they were going to approach a singles-only strategy before the album. And of course, Katy's was a one-off for NBC's broadcast for the Olympics. I do think Katy and co. probably would have smartly capitalized on Rise if it did amazing, but it just did ok.

OMG YOU JUST MADE ME THINK OF THAT. If Rise would've done amazing then they would have rushed the album. Keep in mind this was before the election, so "purposeful pop" wouldn't have existed, and Queen Katy would've stayed atop the charts :firega: ..... if only
