Speechless94 545
I had the opportunity to go to the artRAVE meet and greet after she read my letter and asked me to go back stage, and girls let me tell you, that sh*t was worth more like $3500. To be able to sit down with her for like 40 minutes and ask her questions? It was undeniably worth the $1500 and looking back, I would have actually bought one for my show had I known how it actually worked. That being said, she can't do that for every tour. I understand why they pushed it to before the show. If you could only see how tired she was after performing a whole show and then meeting fans for 45 min afterword. I think making it before the show just makes it easier for everyone. We literally had to wait like an an hour and a half after the show was over so she had time to cool off and relax. Gaga even had altitude sickness at the show I went back stage at, and she STILL had to go through with a full meet and greet (she was such a good sport and so amazing though). That's definitely taxing on her body and health - every night after the show, to have to be functioning and communicating with two dozen people until 1:30 AM every day is a lot for a person to have to handle while trying to stay healthy enough to finish a world tour. And as someone else mentioned, I totally get her looking stoic in all the photos. It's minutes before she's due to go on, she heart is racing, she's probably hyper focusing on the routine and what she's actually about to do. All in all, I would be disappointed if I bought the tickets for this, but I also didn't because I saw what the package entails It's definitely not a meet and greet experience. I agree with everyone upset however and think that she should just not do meet and greets at all anyway. I'm not sure how much it actually adds to gross sales ($36,000 isn't much when added to 1.7 mil). If it causes problems with fans then it shouldn't be something they continue to do. And yeah making people decide who gets next to stand next to her is kind f***ed up. All tea no shade - she would much rather meet you anyway through a more, say, conventional means like outside of her hotel or by the exit of the venue than you actually paying to meet her. bitchimtrying 2,495
People really need to stop making threads and talking about this stuff. After everything that has happened to live performers in recent years everyone needs to have a little bit more compassion to someone who is literally putting herself into a room full of strangers who are probably hyper and excited and all want a piece of her. Plus Gaga has already said in the past that she dislikes taking these types of photos because she feels it's vain and like she has more to offer than a photo of her. LittleMonster20 9,858
Why couldnt this Backstage Experience just be a Meet And Greet, this would be ideal in my opinion: First of all,a Meet and Greet should be held after this show.I mean there is no rush, and its just better. And If Gaga is really tired(which is unlikely because Gaga handles exhaustion perfectly),they can do the M&G in bed, like at the BTWB. Secondly, all fans deserve a individual picture, especially the fans who are on their on and dont know the other fans. There shouldn't(unless requested)be groups. And taking a picture cant take that long. Third, security should control all fans, and everything they have with them. And lastly,Gaga shouldnt do Meet and Greets in show costumes(i read she did at some backstage experiences)I mean at the ArtRave she had these fabulous outfits and wigs, and If she doesnt feel like dressing up,wigs and make-up,she can do it in her bathrobes, like at the BTWB. This would be perfect in my opinion.
Bio 23,538
The point is: no one is outraged because they feel they were fooled. Everyone knew it was gonna be like that. But there is a clear change in her behavior towards her fans and this is just the icing on top. We get that there's been a lot of **** going on in the world and security needs to be amped up but gurl... At least take your glasses off and smile for your fans Also, they said each group has 30 seconds with Gaga. 24 people per show. That would be 12 minutes if individual pictures were taken. Is it really that hard spending 12 minutes giving attention to people who spent a lot of money to come see you?
JesseBabe 837
I already went to the tour and did not spend extra money for the backstage experience, but what I think is funny is I don't remember seeing nearly as many threads complaining about this as much as I do now lol. It's like some people just chose to ignore the fact that it wasn't a meet & greet until now that it's happening. Personally, even before buying GA I looked through each package and felt like none of them were worth the amount of money for what they offering. That's my opinion. I just wish for the people that did spend the money, could have more than 15-30 seconds to talk to her and an individual picture. I feel like they could hold the backstage experience before she gets ready or while she's getting hair and makeup, so people have the chance to talk to her/get hugs. Or.. Idk, maybe have the MUA and stylist there so if they need to do touchups or rearrange her outfit they can. It just feels so... Idk half assed. This also isn't about this not being like ARTPOP zone !!!1!1!1!! or not being a proper meet and greet since it was never advertised as such and we all have reading capabilities. This is about her just standing there making zero effort, not even smiling and being an obvious cash grab, which I guess is also okay since so many artists do it. We're only digesting the difference. The fact that it's a group picture doesn't mean she has to turn into Justin Bieber. This is about the fact that it would literally take her like three more minutes to make less groups since they're only 24 people and the pics are seemingly 4 groups of 6 This is about her not even having an assistant or whatever pre-sign a ****ing tourbook and give it to us (which I know wasn't advertised but still) This is about Live Nation throwing you in a Hunger Games arena and leaving you to decide who stands next to her This is about not even being able to touch her because she is in costume and make up, when she is only in make up. The same way they tell us not to touch her and we respect it, they can tell us that we can hug her, just not touch her face or whatever People who already had their experience may have loved it, others haven't, and tbh I am so so so looking forward to mine. But the fact is Gaga changed, and making bullshit excuses about it to reassure yourselves is just not healthy lol. And also without sounding like a bitch, people like you who don't even have the package shouldn't be chiming in because telling other people what to do is just not the t, you're not the one who payed $1500 for it and you're just adding fuel to the fire It actually did say groups of 6 from day one

They charge so much for a meet and greet because they can get away with it. If the meet and greets wouldn't have sold for 1500, they would have lowered the prices and the people could have got to her for a lower price and still get the same experience. But since the tickets were bought, it's just happening like this. I just hope Gaga will put some of this "hard earned" money back into her art somehow. Like, shoot more than 2 music videos for your next era ok? (MR doesn't count, the cure didn't get a video either) The money always goes to her art; the stage must be extra expensive, and she's doing it for the fans. lgaga1fan 2,305
The experience was amazing and definitely worth the money. The seats you get are the best seats in the house. The people around us payed $800-$1000 for their seats each, and they didn't get merchandise or a picture with Gaga. The food when we got there was really good. They had every salad dressing you could think of, and really good chicken breast filled with artichoke and spinach. The main course was shrimp scampi, but I didn't have any. Ritchy and Montana (dancer) showed up too and I said hi to them, they were really nice. Next, we went to the soundcheck. We got to stand on the GA floor. It was crazy hearing the instrumentals and seeing all the lighting with only us there. We heard Alejandro, Perfect Illusion and Telephone. Next, the tour guy named Rick talked to us about the stage. It takes about 15 hours to build and is being moved on about 28 trucks. He also said there were about 99 crew on the buses everyday as well. He then talked about the catwalks. The crew calls them surfboards and they are held to the ceiling with very strong wire. They also have people who go into the roof and pull chains to bring up the stage and setup in the arena. He also showed us the main LED screen that was massive, and looked really cool. Then we go to go behind the stage. There are stairs that Gaga and the dancers go down to change outfits. He also told us the quickest change of outfits is about 1 min and 38 seconds. The boys and girls are divided, girls being on the right of the stage from the GA view, and boys on the left. There is also a really big prop lift that we got to walk up onto, and got to see her view of the arena. After that we went into a party room for a few hours and got to listen to some music , have some drinks and snacks (sliders, quesadillas, macaroons, etc...). During this time my group drew numbers and we decided who was standing next to her. After 2 hours in the party room we went and waited in a hallway for awhile right before the photo op. She was wearing a black top that was sparkly, and her hair was really nice. She had sunglasses on also. I stood second next to her, and touched her back in the photo. After the photo I shook her hand and said "It was so nice to meet you," and she said "You as well honey." I almost got a hug, much like others in my group, but the security had to rush us out. She was very nice and smiling during our photo. She was also stunningly beautiful as well. Then we got to see the show from an amazing view! Definitely worth it in my eyes. Dominic 11,922
The package isn't really worth it imo but that's why I didn't pay for it so The photos do look awkward though but it's pretty out of character and she is always happy to smile and speak when meeting fans elsewhere so Tbh i don't blame her putting in distance with fans. I think it has a lot to do with her experiences on Twitter. The fans on there can be very full on and are willing to harass others in the name of Lady Gaga. It must be a burden really The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

This literally isn't true? It was clear when the tickets went on sale it would be groups of 6. It's one thing to criticize the format but why are so many acting like it's a huge surprise when it was literally spelled out for us months ago? Granted, I hoped she would spend a little bit of time with the groups.. but it was always going to be 6 per group. 1 group photo. Not sure if people didn't even read the details of their packages? Or they're just feigning ignorance to make this situation seem worse than it is?
