Indeed. Nothing has slayed more than BTWBall merch. Everythiiiiing was amazing!

This time, it's like they didn't even think a lot about it.

But she shouldn't really expect anyone to pay that much for such a minimal design on a plain hoodie, regardless of whether they're GP or monsters.

Maybe I just expect too much from Gaga sometimes. Like you say, it's just like the tour merch of other pop stars. I think I just hold her to a different caliber in every aspect and that's not always fair on her. But still, surely she could have hired someone to put in a bit more effort? I'm sure it's not that costly considering how much revenue the tours make.

Maybe minimal was what they were going for. A lot of people like that look.

I'm sure she hired someone. This isn't the BTWB. The aesthetics are going to be different.

Probably because the money that Gaga get's from the merch probably isn't worth her time, so she leaves these things up to whatever team handles her merch, and that team try to maximize profit without putting too much effort into it, maybe because the team that handles her merch has more pressing issues to do or something else more redundant?

Idk, it is what it is, but if I was an artist, I'd make SURE that my damn merch was up to my standards and would put a lot of effort into it.

Yeah, really good point. Maybe stuff like tour merch just isn't on her radar anymore.

Because it's made for the GP and not the demo at GGD?

IDK, it looks like most the overpriced merchandise at the other concerts I've gone to.

Most of the time, I wait and buy a shirt in XL outside the venue for five bucks after the show and sleep in it! :giggle:

Same. The tshirts are always better as well outside :giggle:

How have I never thought to do this? thanks for the idea ya'll.

I personally really like the merch, especially compared to the artRave.

pricing though, is pretty standard. Concert shirts are always $40 and hoodies more.

The only thing that confuses me is the $60 tank top that simply says Joanne

$40 isn't THAT bad for a t-shirt. But there definitely could be better options.

But...she she one promoting it on Instagram and wearing it all the time...she did this during PI era, before the tour started, and on the Coachella stage, etc...

Also, all can be forgiven if her team releases a bomb ass tour program/book that includes promo pics, tour pics, interlude pics, etc.

Exactly.
By now we already know that merch is expensive, if we like it or not. That aside, it would be 'right' if at least the designs were cool, exclusive and if they put thought in it. For the queen of visuals, you'd expect that they would hire someone to make more interesting things. It doesn't have to be out of this world couture, but fans on here have already made cooler T-shirts since the merch was launched.

Nowadays artists actually get the MOST money by touring and of merchandise (that's why it's so expensive, because a high % of the money of the sales are for them, when for lots of other earnings there are so many other people that get paid before the artists themselves get to see any money)
