I actually think some fans are exaggerating the Perfect Illusion difficulty. She is Lady Gaga, she can sing Perfect Illusion just fine. She did the Sound of Music tribute, she can do Perfect Illusion properly.

Completely different ways of singing.

123 dates- there's the problem. Too much!

And some fans want Gaga to do more, sing more, dance more with three metal pins in her hip, etc. As an artist, you have to take care of yourself and piling on the dates with all that air travel isn't good for anyone!

Ikr! Justin b, Katy perry and many others do lots of dates because they lipsynch their shows but Gaga actually sings live so I'm happy she takes care of her vocal cords

It might.

"They have no shortage of patients: there is an epidemic of serious vocal cord injuries in the performing arts. In addition to his work on Adele, Zeitels, who directs the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabilitation, has repaired the cords of more than 700 performing artists, including Sam Smith, Lionel Richie, Bono and Cher. Michael Bublé, Keith Urban, Meghan Trainor and Celine Dion have also had to quit touring to get their cords surgically repaired."

Broadway greats, Jazz singers, Opera singers...the best of the best...eventually will run into injury. The ones who escape it are the rare exceptions and we're lucky enough to win the vocal genetic lottery. lol Let's hope that's Gaga!

This is why a lot of singers on tour do not sing the whole song for every song on the setlist.  I know she doesn't dance or anything theatric on tour but she could give her voice a break when it's a song that has powerful vocals.  Like she could interact with fans during parts of song.  Gaga's voice hasn't been damaged yet because she knows to give her voice a rest at times.  Not everybody can be as good as Gaga though.

I think it's more because Adele stands there and sings and talks constantly for 2 hours :deadbanana: There's barely a break, whereas most artists do get a vocal break through either an interlude or dance number or not going as hard on their vocals because there are backup singers or a backup track that lighten the load a bit at some points during the concert

She could easily resolve it by just releasing albums every now & again with a few tv performances. She wouldn't have an issue selling. I thought she didn't like touring either.

It's not as easy as you guys make it out to be. I'm a speech and language pathologist. I got lots of adults with vocal damage. I mean she stopped smoking, drinking as much as before. Working out more. She's done A LOT. But it still happens. The vocal cord is fragile, especiallt womens. And as they grow older, get kids etc hormones changes and it effects your vocal cords.

One reason why all these performers on Broadway and suchlike don't require vocal surgery all the time despite performing 6 days a week and twice on Saturdays is because they don't sing every song, it's a varied show with different performers. Adele is singing every note for herself for 2 hours straight every other night. That is asking for trouble. I had no idea the extent to which she did this until I saw a video of her mic giving out and how there was literally no other sound in the entire arena when it happened, no backing track, nothing. So she's literally belting every part of that song out all on her own with absolutely no time for vocal respite. At least pop singers just sing the main vocals and just let the backing track play the backing vocals. That's not lipsynching, that's just singing your part. So, when I found this out, it's no wonder that Adele has the problems she has. She also has to stop making songs that require her to belt because her voice is nowhere near as strong as people give her credit for. It feel like she's going to have a hernia every time she pushes her voice live. She sometimes even looks like she's in pain.

What I can't understand is why so many people want to see her live. Because she sounds exactly the same as she does on the record, she doesn't dance/play instruments/has any level of performance ability and her tours don't involve a visually stunning production. The whole point of seeing someone live is that they provide something that you can't get on the studio recording. And those reasons usually are that they're better live than on the album, cut loose on stage and put on an impressive production. What does Adele do that you can't get on the album? You're better off just putting on her live special and playing it full blast. It would be no different. I mean, Mariah had a big voice and yet, she never had a high demand for live gigs, not even at her peak. I don't think people will be that bummed out if Adele decides to never tour again, quite honestly whereas there would be public outcry, if say, Beyonce, Gaga or even Madonna gave it all up right now.

Yeah, she used to only sing at some random concerts in UK , awards or other TV shows . But it seemed like due to 25's huge success, she started a world tour , regardless of the fact that she is not used to the big big pressure of touring that can put on her health and especially her voice. Hope she learns a lesson and does what she is capable of ;)
