@DeanWinchester I would never let this thread die.

Buffy Big Bads (ranked from best to worst):

Glory > The Mayor > Angelus > The First/Caleb > The Master > Adam > Dark Willow > The Trio

(I went based off your pictures as well as who is considered the big bads of each season. There were other villains that I thought were more effective than some that ended up being Big Bads, such as Ted, The Initiative, Billy Fordham, The Order of Taraka, Der Kindestod, Hans and Greta Strauss, Gnarl and the first Turok-Han.)

Angel Big Bads:

Holts > The Beast > Angelus > Lilah > Marcus Hamilton > Jasmine > Silas > Vocah > Sahjan

(Notable mentions: Ronald Meltzer, The Scourge, Ryan, Billy, Thesulac, Gio, Tezcatcatl, Pavayne)

(also, can we just talk about the fact that in That Vision Thing, the shopkeeper demons who grow the claws...when their claws come out, they used the exact same sound file that they used for the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park :sharon:)

I hated the Mayor so much. I found him boring. I know he was mentioned several times throughout seasons 1-2 but when he finally came into the limelight and especially how easy they defeated him well :madge:

I loved the Mayor! I loved how he was so off the wall and sorta a nice guy. It made me just find it so much more interesting. He was a special kind of villain, one that knew exactly how to manipulate people with the truth (similar to the First).

I mean, the big showdown obviously had some questions that were raised, such as how they managed to convince the entire graduating class that a giant monster was going to attack graduation, but still, I loved the symbolic nature the episode took.

I hated him when I was young; he was so annoying. But as I rewatched it now that I'm older, I found him really good, charismatic, threatening, and he sent shivers down my spine.

Why do you always disagree with me sammy. Then again maybe i need to rewatch it. Supernatural 7 aged like fine wine for me because of how relevant its sociopolitical commemtary is in light of Trump

While I didn't dislike him while I was younger, I didn't understand the threat that he really posed until I was older. Faith was portrayed as more the brute force villain, and it wasn't until I continued to do rewatched as I aged that I really saw how manipulative and cunning Wilkins was.

Yes. It also helped that I completed Angel so getting accustomed to evil entities in suits and corporate attires helped me appreciate the leviathan's approach when i rewatched the season

I liked them as bad guys.

I haven't watched the most recent season, so I am not sure who that bad guy is. They have to be running out of bad guys at this point.

Tom Nook

I saw this thread trend again does anyone else think the Initiative was a strange aspect to the show. :oprah: Like I enjoyed the episode "The I in Team" with Adam being like a modern Frankenstein but mixing the military and the supernatural has always felt off.

Uh Red Wine... Convict... Gah Gah...

Well i can tell you if you dont mind getting spoiled but the past 2 seasons i found more compelling than 8-10

At first i was thrown off because i really didnt want sci-fi and magical fantasy mixing because they are usually done poorly but i thought buffy did a good job. Additionally, it is in human nature to try to exploit something and it was inevitable humanity would try to control something powerful and weaponize it. And Angel had an episode with the precursor to the Initiative (Demon Research Initiative) which implies they had several decades of attempting to understand and control supernatural creatures since (or before) world war 2

I dont mind spoilers at all.

The Initiative was a far better villain than Adam.
