These articles really have no respect for residency show performers though. It's already considered a deterioration of one's career in the industry. :rip:

I think they just meant that doing a residency meant that a musician/band were acknowledging that they have turned into legacy artists and are no longer contemporary relevant.

But I felt the shade, too :neyde:

I think they meant that these artists could no longer sell out arenas on an international level and hence stayed at Vegas where tourists can occasionally drop by for a vacation show. :neyde:

:air:

how about the fact that when you're 70 like Cher it's simply more comfortable to have a residency than to tour all the country

how rude of them :crossed:

I think they meant younger artists like Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears :neyde:

I wouldn't really say she's on top, but she's definitely in a better place than with ARTPOP.

She just needs a WW hit in order to be back on top and a more successful album (I mean.. Joanne wasn't really THAT successful outside of the states ).

I can't creat a thread yet so...

why is no one talking abt this?:emma::excited2:

'I can't look like a copycat of J-Lo!' Explosive texts reveal Lady Gaga BEGGED to be credited on Jennifer Lopez's song Invading My Mind to avoid being called 'unoriginal' because it sounded too similar to her hit Judas http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4758936/amp/Gaga-got-credit-JLo-album-avoid-called-copycat.html

On top, well let's say she's not on bottom :gaycat:

But she has mantained a strong position in US. She has estabilished herself a bit better in the streaming era, her instagram still lacks followers but generates interest. And her design team is just brilliant.

Just Joanne wasn't strong enough, but she'll have at least one global top ranking era again. This tour is very good, she still defends her position as a tour force, it's really gonna help promote the movie in the end. If the movie is good and the songs are good, i dont even know what can come with that.

What amazes me is she could've become jaded from the fame but she's still the same girl from NYC that we fell in love with 9 years ago. Yeah her aesthetic has changed but deep down she's still the same person. Even at tonight's show, I still felt the same love I felt during the Monsterball.

This is what I love so much about Gaga. I think it's because she's of NYC instead of Los Angeles and because of her good relationship with her parents.

At tonight's show she took a moment to thank her fans but most importantly her little monsters because while she appreciates her fans, it's her monsters that have her heart. She's thankful for them but she doesn't have the bond with them that she has with her monsters. It's her monsters that she would move the earth for ♥️

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
