Quark 7,098
o<(0_0)>o New York Times gave the Joanne World Tour a mixed review because the critic wanted Gaga to focus on her raw and intimate self (more of Joanne) instead of the spectacle side of Gaga. And to be honest the NYT is not alone when it comes to this preference. Many people only like Gaga when she is alone on stage singing with a piano, or when she can showcase her powerful and raw vocals in genres such as jazz and rock. But then there is the other side that prefers Gaga when she provides a huge spectacle and big productions. So which side are you on? Which aspect of Gaga do you like the most? CannaeDrive 3,412
Of course a true Gaga fan wants to see her in all her iterations, colors and styles, so the answer is obvious. "Fame Is A Boomerang" - Maria Callas
TimisaMonster 31,073
I prefer her singing and dancing over sitting at a piano and dropping the energy. But I know she needs a breather between acts and has to also cater to THAT part of her talent and fans who like that as well Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! bobbby 939
I think the good thing about Gaga is that there is the juxtaposition though. I've seen Gaga at Monster Ball 1.0, Monster Ball 2.0 (x2), Coachella, and Dive Bar. And I'd say that Monster Ball 1.0 was my favorite since it did mix those two so effortlessly. The crowd was small enough that it did feel insanely intimate but it was still outrageous and flamboyant. Dive Bar was obviously the most intimate, and I was in shock and awe that I was seeing Gaga with literally like 150 people the whole time—but it definitely didn't have the same magic as more theatrical Gaga shows, but I could appreciate the vocals and her passion. Used to be on here as broadwaybobby in TFM era
Ada 1,665
To be completely honest, I don't think Gaga IS the kind of person she acted like on this era. I'm not critizicing at all, I just feel like she's trying to convey a message and in order to achieve that she's acting. That's all. Btw I really respect that because that's what artists do! They live for their message. But I also think her influence was stronger when she was all spectacle. Maybe she just wanted to try a new strategy... It does not necessarily mean a drop in energy. There is a reason that Million Reasons became big after she performed it sitting down on a piano at the Superbowl. Edonis 28,950
You can't have one without the other at a Gaga show. Sorry. And I guarantee so many people wouldn't have paid for a ticket if they didn't know they were going to get one (especially after the SuperBowl Halftime Show)

Yeah. Not everyone likes ballads and country. All I am saying is that a big portion of the GP like Gaga for this reason.

But some people are strictly on one side or the other and that's why they end up criticizing her.
androiduser 7,438
I am kind of torn.... I much prefer big piano vocal performances, because I think this is where her talent shines.... I understand some dance songs like Poker Face need a spectacle, but I think her dancing skills and choreography especially are not very strong and make the dance performances a bit awkward. The Cure looks really awkward, just swaying left and right.

It fits the slow but catchy vibe of the song.
