Why Katy Perry gets heaps of exposure...

Many people on this site, including me have been questioning for years why Katy Perry is still relevant in our generation and how Gaga isn't getting as much exposure compared to her. Many already know, however here in Australia everyone goes crazy for her. Her music is still charting here and I want to tell you guys what she has been doing in Australia quite regularly in order to get her success....

1. Her Witness Tour and it's endless. freaking. promo.

As y'all are aware, she is kicking off her highly anticipated tour mid-next year. She will be in Australia at the beginning of August next year, thats right, she's already promoting our dates with another year to go! Already, numerous competitions have been set up by different popular Australian companies for her tour. JB HI-FI (Australian 'Best Buys'), Myer (Australian 'Macy's'), Sanity and many more are holding competitions here for their customers to win tickets to see her Australian Witness shows. I walked into Myer the other day with my mom and literally everything was covered in Katy Perry. Even the mannequins at the from of the store had katy-esque outfits on. Posters everywhere, Katy ornaments hanging on the ceiling. There was literally NOTHING in the 4-floored store that wasn't covered in Witness Tour promo. She has been literally INVADING our tv commercial breaks. I heard my mom complaining to my dad not too long ago that her Myer Witness competition was on the entire day. She claims in the past hour of being on the same channel, Katy showed on her screen at least 6 times! 

 

 

2. Her merchandise: Perfumes, clothing line etc.

Katy is well known for her music, but Australia loves her for more than just that. Her perfumes seem to be quite the craze...and teens everywhere can't get enough of her fragrances. My local drugstore must be KatyCat-crazy! Everytime she releases a new fragrance they have it in stock almost immediately, they hang posters and ornaments all over the store, just like Myer did...except not as festive as them. They even have a whole shelf of just Katy Perry fragrances, and of course Rihanna, Bey, Gaga, Ari and Britney are all shoved onto the same shelf. I (eventually) gave into the impossible-to-escape promo and bought two of her fragrances  they were promoting her old ones and selling them super cheap and everyone went crazy, even me. If you guys aren't aware, she has even put out her own clothing line. They don't sell it in Australia (yet ) however everyone somehow knows about it and have even seem some in public wearing her new clothes. 

 

Funny enough, her music isn't as hyped as her promo and merch. HOWEVER, her music is still relevant. Some here have been asking why Gaga did a whole SB performance, and still hasn't managed to beat Katy's level of exposure....well ladies theres a very logical answer for that. Gaga decided a long time ago that she wasn't going to go further into promo with clothing lines, perfumes etc. KatyCats say that Gaga ain't getting as much views on YouTube as Katy...well thats because Katy my friend, is showing up on my recommended videos EVERY TIME  I visit YouTube!

Well here in Mexico there is like... none I think  I only watched promos from her first fragrance and ticketmaster selling her tours. Pretty much the same as Gaga

ive recently become a fan of hers ever since bon appetit she has not left my 

playlist i wanna download one of the boys and the other stuff but i wanna 

give teenage dream and witness its own era since i wasnt really there for much of her

I love her, but for the amount of exposure and promo she gets, she shouldn't be flopping
