Did artRAVE get a lot of hate?

IMO, I don't understand the hate towards artRAVE. Sure, it may not be innovative or theatrical but it fit the theme that was promised in the poster (Music, Fashion, Dance, Party). It's meant to be messy and fun.

Was on here during ArtRave and no it did not get hate. It was the highlight of the ARTPOP era and it was executed without any missteps which was a relief after ARTPOP. I went to 2 shows and it was truly an experience. In GA you could almost touch her on the catwalks and the set list was amazing (except it needed a little more BTW). The visuals were colorful and exciting. The main stage was just okay but the catwalks made up for it. You really needed to be there to get the full effect. Everyone at the show was loving it. Vocals and choreography were on point. Her speeches were beautiful and genuine.

People like to make cheap jokes about the raver girl outfit but it really did fit the theme. Swine live was mind blowing and probably the most free I've ever felt in public. Best show I've been to yet.

I don't remember it getting a lot of hate  Only disliked parts I can remember are:

- chair choreography and accompanying outfit
- rave girl outfit
- when people found out the stage structure was inflatable
- ballads being too long

Besides that I think people applauded the see through walkways and the overall setup and the lighting and stuff :woohoo:

JWT doesn't have the magnificent stage, digestible aesthetic and good setlist that artRAVE does :emma:

How is that cheap? That's being smart and practical. Much easier to transport.

you're right, JWT has a better stage, better aesthetic and better setlist

or we can just keep going in circles forcing our opinions as facts, which doesn't help anyone :poot:

the point of this thread isn't to compare JWT to artRAVE, i was curious about the initial reception of artRAVE
