It's only 4/14 songs. It's not unlike Marina's 'Froot of the Month' promo. I mean, didn't Gaga release 3/11 tracks before Joanne was released? I feel like it probably generates more pre-orders. Regardless, I wonder if Hymn will eventually be released as an official single (since Woman, Learn to Let Go, and Hymn at this point are promotional singles). 

If Hymn does get the official single treatment, I'd be a little bummed. I really love both Woman and Learn to Let Go (and of course Praying, which deserved lead single status). I'll have to listen to Hymn a few more times, but it's my least favorite of what she's released. The way it was rolled out though (it was supposed to come out two weeks ago) and lack of video and more official cover art makes me feel like it is going to be a single in the near future...

in a way means vocals, there's just something about Lorde's vocals in some songs that don't capture me. Lyric wise they're both good and production wise Lorde is better.

Oh, man. I thought after "Praying" being so amazing, that she would do a more raw album focused on vocals and emotions. The past 3 songs have been very current. I don't like it.

4/14 isn't bad. 10 entirely new tracks is basically an entire record and its more than what most artists have if they release promo tracks.  I'm only a little worried because the 4 tracks are all back to back on the record, which is kind of  

Based on the title I did not expect that melody, but this is actually a bop. Also, based on that interview and review on that feminist website that reviewed the record (they had heard it), I expected a mostly down tempo record with very few up tempo songs or "bops" but so far we've got 4 back to back bops  This is nice, but I kinda hope the rest of the record is more emotional and less pop
