Yep... she has also explained that her Aunts death had a great effect on her Dad which had a great effect on her.   Its a chain of influence.   People arn't looking deep enough into songs like Joanne and DIC IMO and just thinking on surface level too much.

I can't stand it, too. but given that it's one of the fans' favorite I think she made the right choice.
I think she  feel obligated to make her old fans happy( fans who like dance pop music)

joanne- hesitation re fame, reassurance (relates to her father)

dic- after fame- isolation, a sense of fight- empowered through self

MR- invited to join 'executive' level women of industry

mama- monsters- you need me so you'll have to accept what I'm gonna be and that's that (relates to mother).

relates roughly to the arc of her career/life if she was abstracted as a career musician aka without the theatrical and other artistic elements of her total work. so, it's not truly about her, but it is about a part of her. maybe a part of her that she could have been, or that others saw in her or something. 

joanne is weaker and more uncertain than stefani ever was.

I definitely agree that there were more exciting times in terms of photo shoots and interviews and new amazing outfits every day.

 

I bet she'll excite you again, one day. Fans lose interest when exciting things aren't happening and that's normal. There's not much to keep up with.

 

She's still "Gaga" and gets inspired by new ideas and fashions in every stage of her career. I don't think that will ever go away. Exciting times will come!

Gaga didn't announce her break up. She only confirmed it after the news rags had reported on it for weeks. Stop spreading misinformation.

Thank you! I agree with pretty much 90% of what you said but if I said it I would be ripped to shreds but that's partially due to your eloquence (your English/grammar is great by the way).

I do feel like her fire is gone and that's what bugs me the most. I know she still loves what she does, but it's not the same and I can't blame her for that. People change, life happens, etc. If any other artist released Joanne or even some songs on ARTPOP, I'm not sure I would even give it a second listen. But best of luck to you and maybe one day you'll be back

The album isn't about her dead aunt...it's about Gaga. Maybe you don't like the album because you missed the whole message of the album? Every song is about Gaga- her relationships with family, friends, her partner, her best friend, girlfriends, other women, and problems in the world. It is autobiographical.

The problem with this website is that you have people who make accounts to just trash her, which is annoying, sure, but the biggest issue is you have people who can't stand to hear someone else say they don't like something that she does. God forbid someone say they didn't like Joanne or they are underwhelmed with a video, or the tour. When someone simply says how they feel, and don't try and make their statements as fact, is annoying and disrespectful for others to make snooty lame comments like "girl bye, delete your account, u mad, stay pressed" or any of the other lame crap they say. 

 

People have different tastes, and everyone is allowed to state their opinion on it. For me personally, Joanne is my least favorite album and era (aside from the Superbowl) because it just seems lackluster. No really great visuals, not much promotion, and I simply wish the tour had a story-line or apparent theme. She seems very distant from fans, isn't dancing as intensely (could be the hip)  But that's just my opinion. Others are allowed to disagree and that is totally fine.  No one has to "delete their account" simply because they disagree with you. It's immature. 

I have three tickets to see this tour, and I'm ****ing stoked. I think it's going to be an amazing time, and I'm so excited that she is doing Scheiße again, as it's my second favorite song by her.

I mean, are we going to deny that the original album we thought we were going to get based on multiple Instagram posts, interviews from Gaga, and other artists working with her, was completely different than what we got? I understand that @Swine was expecting something totally different. I feel like a lot of us were tbh.

Joanne has definitely not been my favorite album either, visually and musically. This entire era has felt slightly lackluster to me, from the soft visuals, to the constant crop tops, booty shorts, and pink cowboy hats. Sometimes she acts like a completely different artist; she's distant from her fans, she doesn't really update a ton on social media anymore, she's very secretive in the projects she's working on. It has been totally different from the Gaga I was used to seeing. I get it though, she's had a lot going on in her personal life and professional life the past few years, which I'm sure has changed her immensely. There are things though this era there were things I did like that had me sticking around (Superbowl, Coachella, etc.) It just sucks when one of your favorite artists puts out content that you can't really connect with. I appreciate the step back you took in making sure not to spoil it for the people who really loved this album. Some just have a hard time accepting the fact that not everyone is going to have the same opinion as them, but that doesn't mean yours is any less valid. Opinions aren't facts, and you have every right to not like everything Gaga puts out and you shouldn't feel bad for it either.

I like joanne but I think just about all your other points are valid.  see above where I give my storyline idea for the album. I think she is telling a story. I think she has been playing the part of 'joanne' all throughout this period- someone less experienced and more reticent vis a vis fame in general. jwt -I'm hoping- is where gaga breaks out and we see the yupluster we've grown to expect.
