I did however some Socialists didn't abstain in the final round and their allegiances would obviously have been with Macron out of the two.

Lets get back on topic.

Y'all really played yourself. Believed the desperate for power politicans (conservatives :poot:).

Like its so clear that they always want the actual government to fail just so they come in power. And y'all fell for that.. and Im sure all of them (as someone stated here before) voted to leave just because of the immigrants.

You would risk the economy, and believe anyone (Farage :poot:) just bc u were afraid of terrorism and against the immigrants.

And thas the tea... fear got y'all blind. And imo, in the end brexit will badly affect UK, and EU gonna come out of it better.

We already had a conservative Government.

I didn't vote based on immigration, so there's that argument shattered.

Our economy is pretty stable all things considered and is doing a lot better than we were threatened to believe.

Nigel Farage does not even have a seat in the House of Commons, nor did he have at the time, and so you can rest assured that the majority of us payed him no mind.

Honestly, read before you read.

Brexit is a lose/lose for both parties. EU won't maintain stability and it won't take long for it to crumble. Shame because I would have liked to remain because it benefits all but lets not pretend the EU is some sort of utopia ;)

Yeah, but Farage is the one who started the movement, right?

And your economy is stable? Ofc it is... the consequences havnt started yet, brexit will be completed in March 2019 :poot:

It's not as black and white as that. A 52% to 48% vote isn't all of the UK backing Brexit, neither is a large number of people voting against the Conservatives to make them lose their majority in government.

I wanted to remain in the EU but if it refuses to change, it's a sinking ship and hopping on a life boat for a small fee is probably a sensible idea before it takes you down with it.

Ever since we joined the EU, people have been sceptical. It was mis-sold to UK voters when they voted to join.

In my opinion, most of that 52% who voted to leave, voted so just because of the immigrant crisis.

Like they wouldnt care about the other consequences :saladga: And again, imo it will badly affect UK's economy in the future. I may be wrong ofc, but its what i think

Not at all, we had the same referendum in 1975.

Again, please read.

You're really off the mark with that. The reason immigration was a big key though is because there's a trend with the places that voted to leave with a large majority, they were all being "forgotten." They weren't given proportionate funding or investment meaning that work is scarce. Cities like mine (which voted to remain as a whole) are prospering and see the "good side" of immigration as there's plenty of jobs and the city continues to grow. These pockets that voted to leave are really fighting to survive, another person moving in next to them is another competitor for that job etc.

The UK is a weird place to live. I can hop in my car, drive for two hours up north and it's like a different country. If I lived like that, I would have voted for Brexit too imho.

The reason immigration is a hot topic in the UK is because we weren't prepared for how many people moved here in waves when we opened the doors. I wish it worked because I love meeting people from different walks of life but some parts in the UK are struggling and immigration has worsened it. Most people think of London when they think of the U.K., I can promise you, the rest of the UK is very different.

Honestly, the people that needed Brexit will get the good end of the stick. They've thrown a molotov into parliament by voting for Brexit. Whoever guides us through Brexit is damned as it will damage the economy but this is not a bad thing. Theresa May and the Conservatives will be over for quite some time meaning the Labour government can come in and change the country for the better post-Brexit.

Personally, I think the EU is going to fall apart soon enough and it's probably going to be better to be out of it now than let it fall apart on you.

Most of the Conservatives were pro-remain, so it is you who should read up on the facts. Don't you think people should have the right to feel scared? Seeing the influx of mass migrants from north Africa who pose as genuine refugees when in fact they are economic migrants - then BAM three terrorist attacks in the UK in the first half of 2017. Europe has a slower growth % than any other continent apart from Antarctica. No one is against immigrants, but we're against forced migrant quotas when the plight of genuine refugees is overshadowed.

The EU will never come out better of anything it does, it is a dying and failing project that only exists so elderly European politicians can join the gravy train as and when they retire from nation state politics, it's been like that for decades.

when you're gone i'll still be bloody mary

How you're all so convinced that the EU is over. :saladga:

It's way stronger than it was right before Brexit, as GB has been unable to make any progress in their negotiations for one entire year(!), neither a "Nexit" nor a "Frexit" have happened and May's disastrous election results made her position for negotiations very weak. All this made the EU stronger so idk what you guys are talking about.
