 I wouldn't call her completely basic, when she literally released an album and represented its sound with her image just as she did with every other era. Especially during October - December. Idk it's not her peak anymore, at least she's still doing good stuff and she's still releasing music.

To be honest, I feel like a lot of y'all who are calling her "basic" are being shallow and don't really understand how she's evolving and changing as an artist. 

Now, Joanne itself is a more stripped back and calmer era, compared to the other eras, but at the same time, she's just changing and evolving as a person and artist and while her fashion isn't as radical as it used to be, you can tell she's still as creative and as innovative as she was back then.

Honestly, it's because she's not wearing her outlandish outfits and it's because she isn't making music ala TF/TFM and BTW that some of you guys are calling her "basic". 

She's far from basic, she's just different.

Let her live... She wanted one single era that's not outlandish, gaudy, and GaGa. Yes, she's all about that GaGa as a person, always has, and still is but you get tired of living life as a mere statement after all these years. She herself admitted that now her motive for fashion is not making a "statement as much as just a move of passion." Early on in her career, she was trying to normalize crazy and be that savior and statement for all freaks and monsters. But it's honestly constricting. She's a human being. She can't remain the same - she tried and failed just for her fans.

Let her have this era.

@Nono it's the biggest sin to "talk ****" about Gaga here. I do agree with u but most of those ass kissers won't.. It's a shame that we are attacked on GGD just for sharing our opinions. Just ignore awful comments and feel free to share your opinion cuz this is forum and forum is place where we share opinions.

if she put out an album full of The Cure-like songs and current popular sounds then i'd consider that to be pretty basic, she's always been the one to challenge trends and whether it succeeds or not, it's far from basic

It's not about her being ''basic''. Some artists are basic but do it well, like Miley with Malibu, or Adele. Even Gaga did it during the C2C era and the TIHTY / Sound of Music mini-era.

But the Joanne era is a mess. She doesn't even look like she cares anymore. When she performed at the Oscars and when she was doing jazz, she looked sooo happy. With Joanne she... seems to enjoy her music... kinda... but she's not excited about it ? No music videos, no promo, nothing at all. She's not on twitter anymore. Her meet and greet is a scam.

''She's happy with what she's doing and you should be too'' oh get over it. She's a performer. Her job is literally to please her audience. If she was present on social medias / promoted the album / showed that she cared about her FANS (not the GP, I repeat, her fans) by... you know... releasing a music video or something, it would have been great.

But seeing how she pays dust to fan favorites, refuses to release music videos and completely ignores her fans, Joanne seems like some punishment for the fanbase not liking ARTPOP, lol.
