The PI video aesthetic is honestly one of her most beautiful in her video catalog. It was a nice change for her and fits the song perfectly. Gaga is obviously lightyears ahead of them in talent and potential but she did not deliver music videos that appeal to the masses this year - she arguably didn't even meet the expectations of her own fans. The VMAs awarded her when she deserved it (mass appeal, boundary pushing and creative visuals, cultural relevance). Take one look at PI or MR video and you know from the visual and the view count that this did not happen for her this year.
