LetsGetHigh 52,683
Not when you hire writing camps and record your album within 30 days sis. That's called being generic. Sit.
Bebe 17,093
This was clearly just bad wording though All she meant was she didn't want to sing songs that every contemporary of hers could sing just as well - she wanted songs that felt uniquely Rihanna. She wasn't out there throwing Gaga, Katy and Kesha under the bus calling them generic - she was just saying she didn't want a song that was generic enough that she could be replaced by any other girl and they would fit just as well. SlaeUrAnus 15,958
Rihanna is the most generic artist out there. She literally collabs with everyone who is popular and has writing camps, so if anyone is generic, it's definitely Riri. In my messy era.

Bebe 17,093
Just now, Anveeroy said: But her all songs are generic. Ehh I wouldn't say that's true at all - especially on her deeper album cuts. She had some generic hits early on and continues to sprinkle some here and there - but Work was a Dancehall track featuring West Indian Patois and Creole. Man Down is a reggae murder ballad. They seem uniquely Rihanna. Tracks like Pour It Up, Talk That Talk, Birthday Cake, Bitch Betta Have My Money seem like Rihanna tracks. I can't think of artists like Katy, Kesha or Gaga performing them. FourFiveSeconds doesn't seem that generic... Those are the songs she would be talking about... Even if you disagree, my point was that Rihanna wasn't dissing Gaga so I wouldn't want to get too off topic about the merits of Rihanna's music.
