Doot 2
I smoked a pack a day for several years straight and my voice is as high as ever. I highly doubt hers was affected by smoking, especially by smoking pot. There have been multiple studies showing smoking pot doesn't damage your lungs. PopThatArt 2,193
For the Joanne era particularly, during recording Gaga drank whiskey in the studio, (during Born This Way and ARTPOP she smoked as well as drank), which creates a more husky, raspy tone to the vocals. It's more full bodied now, I actually enjoy it much more than that young girl voice, and it's especially better than that electronic voice everyone else is relying on. All those albums and songs popular today are so filtered and autotuned, so many listeners actually think that it's how a singer should sound. People think electronically created vocals are real voices, it's laughable, and also kind of sad. And if you take a look at Shawn Mendes, Bieber, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, etc, all of them sound the same, and it's because the same autotune and pitch shift is used to alter their voices, it's none of their true voices on their albums. And don't even get me started on Drake, Kanye, JayZ etc. Go see A Star is Born
Miel 15,009
I thought she was just widening and diversifying vocal techniques, and decided to utilize ones that are more beneficial for her physically and musically. I think the videos from that Armenian wedding earlier this month are good examples. Her vocals were incredibly diverse that night. 3 points in and ready for more
