Thank you! People were so quick to observe the title is like MDMA, but it's also an abbreviation of her name and contains allusions to her previous work.

If people listened instead of shutting her out because of her age, they'd know that

This is how I mostly see the album as a whole, and I think that's what M was primarily going for :)

Triple entrende. Artistic value. Let's not even get into the Deadmau5 thing. He's been caught smoking a big blunt.

I don't know for what artistic purpose she included d--g allusions- maybe you have more ideas on this? I also didn't get why she got defensive about it- like, come on, "Have You Seen Molly" isn't a hit song or a song most people would know at all- but almost everyone knows what "molly" stands for and you don't find it a coincidence that it's MDMA? And Deadmau5 is a ****ing loon, but Madonna's rebuttal was just baffling. Why would you deny you made an allusion to d--gs (which you did) when your almbum clearly has them? Why did you feel the need to say anything about it at all?

It's mostly a trivial matter in my eyes, but I'm wondering if she's watching the news and seeing how big of a problem synthetic or 'designer d--gs' are becoming recently, and- judging that the d--g allusions in her album aren't overpowering or really of much significance (and due to the fact that she's against d--gs herself)- she decided to kick the topic aside, not use it in her show, and hush up about it. What do you think?

What artistic purposes does naming a song, "Government Hooker" have? What artistic purposes are there to do with having your album cover be your head on a motorcycle? She didn't get defensive about it at all. It seemed to me like she was amused by it and didn't give a **** like most other things that surround her in terms of controversy. It's a song from one of her dear friends and she wanted to reference it then she could have and let's not pretend like the audience there didn't know what she was alluding to. Even if they did take it in terms of ecstasy I'm pretty sure they were already on it. Madonna can say anything she likes because she's ****ing Madonna. Take her Erotica Era for example. Also the whole tweeting with deadmau5 is quite comical. He came looking for her and she decided to have fun with it. At the end he made it seem like he made a whole fuss about it for publicity and she only gave him attention for like five seconds.

Madonna didn't even know who 1D are I'm pretty sure she's busy with the tour and what not. She is the Queen of Pop. Royal duties and all. Kick the topic aside? Not use it in her show? Let me go back to my previous statement regarding the triple entendre. MDNA sounds like MDMA. Take it as you will the only song that could allude to a rave like ecstatic dance is "I'm Addicted." And even there she's playfully chanting MDNA. Even the performance screams Art Rave Perfomance Art.

Why would the Queen of Pop even care, though? And if she didn't give a **** and it was just for fun, why was she explaining herself to him, like, 'I don't support d--gs, that was a reference to something else'....It doesn't sound very playful to me  And I'm not denying that she was also talking about her friend's song, but there is no way she was clueless about mentioning "Molly" to a mass of people that were high on it themselves . And I disagree with the bolded statement, Madonna can say anything she wants because we all have the right to say what we want.

But now that I watched a YT clip of I'm Addicted, I would agree that the theme wasn't completely abandoned- although I'm surprised it's as understated as it is for most part of the show (and I'm not saying she had to run with the d--g concept!). What mainly confused me was her twitter response, which only looked like denial to me.

And what do you mean by 1D?

Her Twitter response was like Katherina's ending monologue in "The Taming of the Shrew."

Take that as you will but I'm pretty sure she as just toying with him. She obviously knew he blew the whole matter up for publicity and she gave him sarcastic satisfaction through a couple of tweets. I honestly don't think she gave a **** what deadmau5 had to say. Te media didn't even drag her for this. Only the hypocrisy of deadmau5. So, I guess you can really take that as you'd like.

As for the "d--g" concept of MDNA that you voraciously keep referring to. It's quite obvious that the album is a post-divorce album. Most of the songs are about her divorce with guy Ritchie and just having pop fun. The only song that you could deem to have d--g references is "I'm Addicted" and as I stated before that's just one song. There doesn't need to be a "d--g" theme for the whole album. Her album is a triple entendre.

One Direction.
