Mirrors  hope it dethrones TS soon

Only around 68k away and Mirrors sold a little under double than TS this week, so he could do it. I was thinking maybe JGMAR would end up outselling Mirrors, but it dropped a third of it's sales this week and only did 11k more than Mirrors so idk.

Pink is criminally under-celebrated (is that a thing?)

She's been going for 13 years and racks up top ten singles consistently album cycle through album cycle like it's nothing, has decent overall WW sales and has huge tours. The best part is, all that stuff is actually warranted as she has major talent and great personality/character. Gaga and Beyonce are always considered the best pop performers of our generation but Pink definitely gives them both a run for their money, she's always doing original and innovative things on stage that none of her peers would even attempt. It is hard to see why she is generally so "forgotten" when people discuss pop stars because she seems to be one of those artists that are unanimously respected and liked.

I think it is an enormous advantage for her that she's "forgotten"/not considered as one of the biggest pop stars. The whole world is expecting Gaga, Beyoncé and co. to top themselves with every song they release and criticize them for a minimal mistake/controversy. Furthermore I believe that P!nk embodies most of the women. She's rebellious and cheeky, yet emotional. I never met somebody who disliked her. It's kinda mysterious

That's a very good point, I just think she deserves more acclaim because she really is great.

The charts are such a mish-mash of styles right now that it's as if the public are currently in a transitional phase and are looking for something different but aren't quite sure what that is yet.

Agree. It could be a turn away from dance but it's equally likely that it's just a lull.

Things go in spurts Rock wasn't done in late 50s just because Elvis got drafted and several other mid-50s stars were out of action.

Hip-hop dominence in uS from 1993-2008 wasn't done just because there was that teen pop phrase around 2000.

The UK really should be getting bored of the Winehouse-Duffy-Adele thing by now.

Does Pink have a chance to reach number 1 in UK?

This week is the time if she's going to do it. The new Rudimental record is released next week, so I'm expecting that to be a big #01.

Does Pink have a chance to reach number 1 in UK?

She does have a chance I guess. She's currently at 0.9077 on iTunes VS Duke Dumont's 1.0956. If she can overtake and build a big lead through the week then she could get it. Otherwise I'd say Duke Dumont will stay for a second week. Either way, it's gonna be close.
