UK Charts Discussion - Track "Applause" here!

Do you think Gaga will chart better in this era than she did in BTW? I mean, the lead single was only #3. I'm worried about how she's gonna do it in is era.

Umm, "Born This Way" did very well in the UK. It debuted at #3 from, like, 36 hours of sales or something like that. It didn't debut with a full week of sales; otherwise it would have easily been a #1 hit. By the time it was in its first full week, it had already sold a substantial amount of copies and was competing with several very big songs, one of which was either "Rolling in the Deep" or "Someone Like You" by Adele (which were the two biggest hits of the year).

It ranked #14 for the year which was higher than a bunch of songs that hit #1. I'm not sure why you're acting like it wasn't successful.

Holy mother of God, I read that Daft Punk's new album is slated to sell upwards of 600K opening week.

Does that mean it'll sell around 3M-4M? That would make it one of the best selling albums of all time.

So it did very well? I don't remember why I thought that it wasn't very successful there. Sorry, then  .

600k? Surely not  Where did you hear that? In today's sales climate I would be VERY surprised. I'd be surprised if anyone hit that.

Harry

Justin needs to release a new single and promote it on the Britain's Got Talent Finale to put some life back into the album's sales. A Graham Norton performance/interview would be amazing too.

1st June - Britain's Got Talent

7th June - The Graham Norton Show

I can dream
