Carly certainly doesn't stand out, but that doesn't mean she can be moderately successful. There are many "tamed" singers on the radio, but that doesn't stop them from doing well. Examples include Kelly Clarkson, Lady Antebellum, Train, etc. While it's too soon to determine what will become of her, I won't rule her out entirely. Your examples still have uniqueness. I don't like when artists announce they are going to be doing multi-part records that are released a few months apart. It seems...I dunno, kinda cheap, I guess. Not saying they won't be good, but it just seems like a quick way to make money. Just do what Bey did with I Am...Sasha Fierce. Two records packaged together.
