What Madonna wrote wasn't nice, it clearly shows how insecure she was at the time and how she was threatened by, and jealous of, other successful women. With that said, the letter was supposed to be private, it was written two decades ago and the worst thing she said was that Whitney and Sharon Stone were "mediocre". So many people here have said harsher things about artists this week on a public forum.

What I find a lot worse, is the lack of concern over Madonna's privacy being violated by exposing her letters.

Arguably, you calling Madonna "messy" just now is similar to Madonna calling Whitney 'mediocre'. The difference is Madonna did it 20 years ago in a private letter and you did it just now publicly.

I'm not saying that what you wrote is awful and unacceptable, just that I don't think what Madonna wrote was much worse.

I get it now, Madonna basically hates/dislike everyone who can sing.... she had beef with MJ, Gaga and Whitney... they all can sing and Madonna well, she can moan 

She has an amazing career but what she really wants is raw talent, a voice

That's pretty vague, but I still think kicking up a fuss about a private letter written 20 years ago where the worst thing she did was to call two artists 'mediocre' is a bit extra. It's a pretty boring story really... It's just such a tame criticism and was said to a friend of hers, not meant for public consumption.

Like I said, it wasn't a nice thing for her to say and I think it's indicative of her insecurity and jealousy at the time, but if I ever became famous for some reason and this account was discovered - i'm sure at some point i've had harsher criticisms for certain artists
