Sweet Nothing (2013) *Peak #10*

Dog Days are Over (2008) peaked at #21 on the Hot 100.

To add to this list, I would say Gotye. I understand he hasn't released any new solo work, instead going back to his band, but Somebody That I Used to Know was a massive hit (#1) and he seemingly disappeared after collecting his Grammys.

Harry currently has two singles out, "Sign of the Times" and "Two Ghosts". Two Ghost has yet to break into the Hot 100, peaking at #18 on the Bubbling Under 100. Yes, it will be released as an offical single on August 8th, but as of right now he's a solo one hit wonder.

Now with Lawrence, that song is part of her discography, and counts towards her being on this list.

You (or whoever's criteria you're using) are sort of missing the point of the One-Hit Wonder phenomenon. It's not really about tracking specific charting positions, and it doesn't make sense to call someone a OHW a year or two after they've debuted/gone solo. What's interesting about it is that someone has a major hit - again not just about charting high, but really sticking in our collective memories - and then is basically never heard from again.

Macy Gray is possibly the best-known example. Her song "I Try" was an international hit in 1999. It didn't go #1 in the US! But it was everywhere, and everyone knew it (even if we didn't know what exactly she was saying :laughga: ). I mean I was nine years old at the time and I can still recite the chorus from memory 18 years later. She's had 20 singles, eight albums, numerous features, etc since then... and none of it stuck at all. She had one song that really caught fire and then, as far as the oblivious public is concerned, disappeared off the face of the earth.

Feel free to add one hit wonders.

Harry is waaaay to early to say this and why tf did you even think of Kesha in the first place like she already had other (solo) top tens

I'm sorry but that's such a dumb way to determine who's a one hit wonder when first of all not only is Harry really new but that doesn't stop him from maybe having another hit and yes I know you said as of right now but then that's just not how it even works

TBH, none of these are really huge hits. A one hit wonder to me is someone who was MASSIVE ala Meghan Trainor with AATB, and then maybe had some minor success afterwards but could never live up to that one huge hit.

For me I don't think it needs to be massive but just played not he radios and etc. and peak in a good position on the Hot100 and if they have literally no success afterwards then I consider them a one hit wonder. I understand you said minor success but Meghan does not deserve to be a called a one hit wonder because she's had other hits and maybe not as huge as AATB but they were still a (top ten) hit that was played on radios.

Princess Zelda

Florence a one hit wonder? Have you seen her album sales? She's not a hit maker, but that doesn't mean she's a one hit wonder :smh:
