Like the only way this makes even a tiny bit of sense is that this is just an excuse to put up a chain-link fence instead of an actual wall.

With other decisions I disagree with I can at least see the thought process, even if I think the administration is making dumb decisions on a faulty premise (eg it makes sense to drop out of the climate agreement if you think climate change is a hoax and think pulling out will help create and maintain coal jobs - I believe climate scientists and know coal jobs will decline anyway, but I get their thought process.)

With this though it's like... Does anyone really think that, along a 2000 mile border wall, drug cartels are going to be frequently hitting someone on the other side of the wall with 60 pound bags of drugs they are throwing over?? I don't think the immediate surroundings are going to be that densely populated that everyone in the area is at a constant risk of getting hit by flying bags of drugs

I thought the wall was supposed to prevent drugs from coming across the border anyway? What good is the wall if drug dealers can still manage to throw 60 pound bags of drugs over it?

Our southern border is a heavily fortified chain-link fence, but I doubt he even knows or cares to know.

This entire administration doesn't make sense. A whole bunch of flawed reasoning. And that's the point im trying to get at, why build a wall when the person pushing for it practically admits it won't work.

I literally just spit my water all over myself (not even joking). I just imagined Trump like cutting the ribbon to finalize the wall and above you see a tiny drone with a package of drugs fly by.
