The hype was too big and it left a lot of people disappointed. People complained she got too weird. I feel she didn't really know how to deal with becoming the biggest pop star in years at such a fast rate. When was the last time a pop girl blew up that huge without any kind of award show or any show before her? It seemed like she thought she was untouchable. The ARTPOP era did more damage also. People tuned out after BTW era and the ARTPOP era didn't get that much attention as needed. Joanne era helped a little bit. She is very well liked now. Haven't been this well liked since like 2011. If her next era is more exposed than Joanne, I think she will gain those fans back. It just has to be filled with super catchy dance tunes. She does have tons of fans left though. Her fanbase is one of the strongest fanbases. True, BTW era made her lose a lot of fans. My theory is, she was viewed as fierce and cool during TF and TFM, that's why she also had a lot of straight fans, all the gaga persona made her look badass; but during BTW she was very vulnerable, sorry but being all gaga while showing weakness made look like a straight out loser, specially that it was the theme of the album, BTW was basically for all the underdogs + the music wasn't as catchy as her previous records, so all the people who couldn't relate to the album message left. IllumiMark 974
Some left, but many are still here just moaning about much she has changed and constantly say how much they miss old Gaga
prince 4,688
Yeah she's lost some just like any other pop star but you have to remember Gaga is 31 and she's been in the business almost 10 years. Gagas dedicated fans grow up and she's starting to mature so she's opening herself up to an older fan base, she's gaining new ones they just aren't as noticeable as they used to be. Take Katy Perry for example, her music, attitude and style hasn't matured since she debuted so new fans she gains are still of a younger age and that younger age are the ones that go on facebook and like her, retweet her, follow her Instagram thus making her fan base seem ****ing huge. Gagas fan base is massive but the interaction isn't exactly there, Gaga has the young fans that follow her on social media and stream her and then she has a lot of older fans who buy her CD, see her live and that's about it. gagasgirl 395
I've been a fan since the beginning, still as dedicated now as I was then. I think it's normal for fan bases to shift and change over time. It sort of reflects the changes that the artist is going through in his/her career. I think some of Gaga's fans might feel forgotten because they feel they've lost the connection they had with Gaga in the beginning. She was super active on her social media(s) and we saw her out and about all the time. I remember being a member on LM.com and seeing all of her comments and posts. Fans will come and go but Gaga will always have a solid fan base. 2/21/11 & 2/22/11 MSG
Delulu Rogers 7,235
She lost a lot of the young fans cause she became to gay after BTW but her inability to produce hits, or properly execute them that is, keeps hurting her
TheBatman 951
I feel like she lost her biggest and most important fan: herself She doesn't believe in herself in her work in the fearless and bold way she did when she burst onto the scene. Perhaps that confidence was naive. Fame has been hurtful and unkind. The way she struggles to choose singles, and to figure out where she should put her focus in her career. It's isn't at all instinctual anymore, but rather has the feel of boardrooms and analytics and strategy more than ever. She doesn't seem to trust herself. Instead it's all about course corrections. REALITY 76,326
I do think she's lost fans, to the extent of which she lost, I don't know. That being said, I feel like Gaga has interestingly come into this phase where she's gained a lot more respect. She's still definitely well known, and she definitely still has definitely still has a lot of casual fans (maybe not as much as before), but I feel like she's either unintentionally or intentionally rebranded herself. I feel like there are a lot fewer haters and more people who are indifferent/respect her as an artist—especially a lot of older people as well. She's not that "it" girl anymore, and that's perfectly okay, but as she's gotten older and more experience within the industry, and as she's branched out into other things, I think people are starting to see her in a different light. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
Fame IV 4,426
We are on a forum called Gagadaily, I don't see that happening for other artists. She has really a big fanbase. When the SB happened everyone came together and it was beautiful. Oh, and her sold-out tour. A Star is Born ⭐

That J 12,166
Not all fans buy or are there for everything. They like her but they don't keep up with her or always know her voice. (It does change lol). So I don't think it's people falling OUT with her, many still do the shows...but they just like what they hear or don't.
