First Impression of ARTPOP

Back in summer 2014, I got back into Lady Gaga after a three year refusal to listen to her because I was trying to convince myself I was straight:laughga:, and that straight guys don't listen to Lady Gaga:poot:

Anyway, my best friend sent me the link to Venus, and I was hooked immediately. I loved the catchiness of the song, and especially loved the Greek mythology and the planetary references. So I finally decided to buy ARTPOP.

I don't remember my complete first impression of every song, but a few do stick out to me. I found Aura to be strange, but I liked it. The creepy guitar at the beginning was awesome to me. I looooooved Venus, as mentioned before. I loved G.U.Y for the same reason as Venus, and I LOVED the bridge.

I thought Sexxx Dreams was a funny but weird song.

Jewels N Drugs was a lit song, but I was never (and still) not a fan of the second chorus.

I loved MANiCURE the second I first heard it and still do (bop for lyf)

I remember listening to Swine and being like "why the hell is this beat drop taking so damn long?" I swear its one of the longest beat drops ever in a song

I thought Donatella was a funny song too, and knew on first listen it was satire

Now my first impression of Mary Jane Holland was wild. I thought the song was about a fake movie star, who went by the name Mary Jane Holland (I have a rather innocent mind when it comes to music:duck:). It took me a few years to realize the beginning of the song was a lighter being sparked, and not old fashioned cameras taking pictures.

Didn't like Fashion!, and still kinda don't:neyde:

I loved Dope for a little while. I loved how raw her voice was in it, and the message behind it.

Applause never failed or fails to hype me up:tony:

ikr! I hate it when people say it was a flop.. It was rushed and probably wasn't as great as it was intended to be, but it was still amazing!

also congrats! Are you happy with who you are now?

excuse me no

I loved it, from the very first second we heard Applause, to the last performance of Gypsy at the last artRave, and I still do. It's coming right after BTW for me :kara:

Oh God. I fell in love with ARTPOP when i saw the Applause video and the song is still my all time favourite. Then i started listening to the other songs on the album  but i totally remember skipping JnD (which is the only song i still skip today), Aura, Dope,Gypsy, Swine and MJH but then in 2015 i was already waiting for LG5 and i started listening some of these songs and just last year i started to enjoy songs like Aura and Swine. So i really spent different years trying to figure out the whole concept of the album and the meaning of each song. That’s why i think that people who don’t like ARTPOP just didn’t get its meaning, because the same thing happened to me even tho i already knew i loved it from the beginning.

I knew the first time I heard it that it was gonna be my favourite gaga album because it was just bop after bop after bop  and in my opinion it's still her best album to date :tony:

That's not very born this way of you
