Phoebe Buffay 12,525
Lorde. I just can't get into her new album, I don't know why and ofc Lana Del Rey. If you have insomnia, you should listen to her.

She's the antithesis of gaga, so i'm not sure why there's so many hybrid gaga/britney fans. If anything gaga is more akin to Xtina. She has a great discography. She has nine albums of great pop music. And she might not be outspoken about political issues but she does do stuff for the world. https://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/entertainment-columns/robin-leach/britney-spears-raises-1m-for-new-nevada-childhood-cancer-foundation/

StrawberryBlond 14,881
Cupcakke Beyonce Selena Gomez Marina and the Diamonds (to an extent) Carly Rae Jepsen (to an extent) Kesha (her early stuff, to an extent) On 7/12/2017 at 4:46 PM, Lanius said: For me it's Kesha. Everybody on here was going OFF about how Praying was so good, but to me it sounded rejected ballad from Prism. Kesha has some bops but her discography has aged poorly imo. Yet GGD think she's some great artist I do think her old stuff is a bit overrated around here (though it has got better over time) but I think Praying was amazingly good, her best ever. I think it's head and shoulders above anything on Prism. Thing is, Kesha's writing about a real story, an experience that tore her apart, and I can hear that pain in her lyrics. I can appreciate any song that seems real. For example, if Million Reasons wasn't about a real break-up, if it was just a break-up song to be relatable and make money, I would think it was just ok. But because it's a genuine song, Gaga at her most vulnerable, I feel every word of it and think it's awesome. That's how I feel about Praying. So many artists make songs about basic, struggles that they haven't even gone through (a break-up song despite being happily married) or a lifestyle that they don't even live anymore (clubbing and hooking up despite being happily settled and enjoying the quiet life). Because certain topics sell music regardless of whether they're true stories or not. So, when an artist makes a song that is completely true, about a real struggle that almost broke them, it hits you like a ton of bricks. That's why I appreciate Praying and why it makes me want to cry and why it stands above any other pop ballad out there right now. I'm not saying you have to like it because I do, but I think you might appreciate a new perspective on it.
