So people are telling you that they dont think that this is rascism because it supposed to be based off of the original film and then you go and throw their opinions away because they aren't black? :awkney::awkney::awkney:

This wasn't debunked, it's speculated that the ape from the orginial is in the remake, not confirmed. And yes, I don't need a bunch on Non black poc telling me what I should and shouldn't be offended by, When other prominted black leaders find this offensive.

It's a daily occurrence for you to start a race based debate. :deadbanana:

The claim of this being racist has been debunked multiple times in the thread. I don't need to be black to understand this situation, specifically.

I really wonder if you are genuinely concerned about these issues or if you're trying to stir up drama.

Does talking about race make you uncomfortable? It's a regular discussion for POC in America. And no, It wasn't debunked, just speculated.

Why the f*ck are you so focused on race. You keep pointing out these things calling them racist and then when someone who isnt black gives you an opinion it doesnt matter. What the hell does the color of my skin have to do with anything? Just because my skin isnt black doesn't mean I cant have an opinion on something or be able to empathize with someone.

Hands up to the sky, I'm about to fly!

It makes me uncomfortable when you demonize white people.

But what did they do that was racist? They're literally just paying homage to the original film which has an ape in a blue vest. It's not their fault that a black man also wears a blue vest.

It's not just any "black man" He's a prominent BLM activist, I Seriousily doubt it was a conidence

You might have a case if the ape in the previous movie wearing a vest didn't exist, but it probably was just a coincidence.

Do you feel him sir?

Unless you're black, it is not your place to decide what's racist and offensive to black people and what's not. I wouldn't expect some non blacks to understand the history of linking black people with Apes in America and how it's problematic

WTF?

I'm black and this isn't racist. Now have several seats. :madge:

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

You can have an opinion but at the end of the day Black people are the ones who decides what's offensive and racist TO US

But ONE spokesperson for BLM doesn't validate the 'Planet of the Apes poster is racist' argument either. Other opinions are needed, and this includes mine. :neyde:

No one is disagreeing that the association of black people with apes is racist, that is....

The ape is wearing a blue jacket. It doesn't symbolize the BLM spokesman. The blue jacket was in the original movie far before BLM was even a thing.
