They are discriminating against her SOLELY because she's trans. Before they realized that, they wanted to get to know her.

Cis people need to realize there are people out there who are trans/ non-binary. I'm pretty sure we've had discussions before where some members  argued that racially discriminating isn't racist, so maybe I should just stop here..

you should've stopped 5 pages ago

As a transgender woman myself, I despise how other trans people overuse the word 'transphopic'. Just because a guy/girl isn't into you because you have a ****/vagina doesn't mean they're transphobic. Sigh.

They were the ones hitting her up in the first place and then dropped her when they found out she was trans. That's the definition of transphobic.

A "Just because I think gay people should rot in hell and deserve no human rights, doesn't mean I'm homophobic." tea.

what an oddly narrow and flawed view of transphobia

just because you don't want to f*ck someone doesn't mean you're prejudice against them :awkney:

Just out of interest, what's your take on the whole 'natural vs artificial genitalia' side of this? Do you think that there's a valid difference between the two and that it's reasonable to have a sexual preference towards or against one or the other? (This sounds like a leading question but I can't work out how else to phrase it :emma:

Mythos

So all my straight male friends, who i hit on frequently when i am really drunk, and who politely reject me are homophobic? Oh dear, i guess you never stop learning. Need to have a serious talk with those straight guys!

So now no one can reject her just cuz she's trans? And if anyone rejects her - he is transphobic? :oprah:

Ammm should I expose every guy that rejected me cuz apparently they hate females?

Girl bye.

That ONE guy talking about freaks is transphobic tho.

Unless their reasoning for not wanting to date you was due to the fact that you're female, then i don't see the correlation.

There's a big diffrence between the two. Let's say, when I get my SRS, they will basically invert my **** (simple description which isn't entirely accurate, but you get the gist :)) and it won't actually be a vagina like a cis-woman would have.

So I think it's very reasonable to have a preference toward or against it. Just like I'm attracted to cis-men, with a **** lol. ^_^

Fat acceptance movement needs to die out, being fat/overweight isn't healthy/good. Simple as that imo. :)

Finally someone with a knowledge what is good and how far can you go with all these "stop fat shaming" trends!

This thread is a prime example of the internalized transphobia some of yall have :rip:

Also this is an actual quote from the article, quit being so quick to tell trans women how to feel when you haven't even read the article :toofunny:

"She acknowledges that people are entitled to their individual dating preferences but that they should express their desires in a more open and diplomatic way"

I personally don't feel like just because somebody rejects another person it makes them some sort of racists, transphobic, hater. I also don't agree with how this woman handled the situation. I don't think she's much better than the guys she's talking to are. She could have educated them instead of been super rude, or not even have bothered replying. What kind of response was she looking for when she is choosing to public shame them for not being interested in her? (But definitely some of the guys on there are, but not everyone whoever rejects her is)

I don't really know how to handle the whole genitale discussion because I've never personally experienced anything like that before. Part of me has the opinion that sex is a big part of a relationship, whether or not one chooses to believe that, and I'm not attracted to female genitals what so ever, so am I just suppose to force myself to pretend to like it to not hurt somebody's feelings? I don't think that's fair. But another part of me thinks that if I were in a place where a trans guy was attracted to me, I maybe open to it. I just don't know. I'm just trying to put myself in the shoes of everyone. :laughga:

I just don't like how people throw around phobic words whenever somebody isn't attracted to another person for whatever the reason. Whether the attraction comes from racism, homophobia, or society beauty standards, some people are not going to be attracted to certain things, and it's reality. I don't understand why some bash others over it.

The first guy was incredibly polite, how more "open and diplomatic" should he be, to not be deemed transphobic by SJWs?

Also to add to this, This is also the whole reason guys have nipples even though they serve no function.

This is true. It's all comes down to what genes are "turned on" and "off" during embryonic development.
