I've been a victim of that too i've dated many guys who were the epitome of my type but have had the personality of a rock and it didn't work out, then i've had people who weren't attractive in my eyes but had a personality i meshed with those relationships have lasted longer and my liking/love of their personality changes how i see them and i find them more physically attractive as a result too. For mtf gender reassignment surgery, operations seem to be always very successful but for ftm, specifically for phalloplasty, constructed penis can only super rarely pass as a natural penis. Plastic surgeries aren't that advanced... Just research phalloplasty before after end results etc. http://www.phallo.net/resources/photos/ I'm not going to disagree with the fact that FTM transitioning has complexer issues compared to MTF. They're for one relatively more expensive, much more surgically taxing, recovery is longer, and often times requires multiple follow up procedures, which is what your post is showing. Those are stage one procedures which indicate that further surgeries are required to shape the glans, the shaft, etc. in order for the surgeon to get a more "realistic" and "natural" appearance. This is why FTM transitioning is so difficult. Anyways I don't want to keep pushing this subject as it's slowly starting to derail. My original post was just trying to dispel the number one misconception about trans people, and the number one question that gay men and straight women have regarding the surgical transitioning process. In the case of this thread, we are referring to a MTF person who would not encounter those issues, as MTF surgical intervention is much more successful and does not always require multiple "touch up" procedures in the future. So I'm a gay man and you're saying I should be able to date and have sexual relationships with women if one has a great personality, even though I am not attracted to women??? I understand that you went through tough times but you shouldn't project yourself onto everyone else to be pansexual You can't say personality is the only valid reason to date someone...That's your situation. I'm a gay man and i'd happily date a trans man. And sex is still possible if a trans woman hasn't had assignment surgery and it's what gays have been doing for their entire existence and what straight people have started doing in the last decade or two; **** sex

But I can't personally go as far as sex. I have tried and it does not turn me on any bit. I have tried my best to masturbate to trans men with vaginas and it does not work because I'm not biologically attracted to that and you just can't say "just do a**l sex" if some people are just not looking for that

This attitude tends to ostracize fat people, which, in many different ways, are not responsible for it. The human condition is multi-faceted and its not just because they want to be fat or that they are lazy or whatever. And I think you are wrong; fat people are a discriminated group, just like trans people, especially in the dating world. They dont face the exact same challenges but there are similarities to be made. Their struggles can be compared, although they are different in other ways (e.g.: fat people dont have to fight for their civil rights, usually). And not dating someone just because that person has some overweight is discriminatory. Im not saying you should date obese people. I am saying that it is the same rationale as these men are using against this trans woman. Close-minded and strictly attached to physical features. Phlop 4,773
I wouldnt date a trans man sorry. I'm all for their rights but I'm sexually interested in 100% men, call me transphobic but that's just a different spectre to me. I support trans rights and believe people have to right to change gender. I don't wanna **** a trans though, there's people out there who will BYE

Sex is an easy fixable problem, and you're not attracted to them because it's ingrained in you that they aren't "men" that is why, pure and simple even if you yourself dont know it; transphobia is just as subconscious as racism is. it's impossible to understand your own subconscious until you start examining it in depth and most people wont dare do that, hence why racism, transphobia and homophobia hasnt died out yet because society still forces it's perception on everyone both consciously and subconsciously
