Even Gaga admitted that she was intimidated by the legacy of the film and reminded herself to be equally great as them. #2 Bradley is one of the most high-profile actors in the world and an Oscar favourite, just like how Gaga is a Grammy favourite. The Bradley x (insert influential female co-star like Jennifer Lawrence) combo always gets Hollywood's attention. Bradley worked with Jennifer for four times and both of them were nominated multiple times. Both Gaga and Bradley are high-profile enough to get the Academy's attention. Also there's this tendency that if one actor does really well in a show, his/her co-stars will benefit by getting a nomination at least if they're decent or fairly good. Some examples would be Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange's performances benefiting Judy Davis, Stanley Tucci and Alfred Molina in Feud. Emma Watson benefiting Ryan Gosling in La La Land. What I'm trying to say is award nominations come in a package. #3 Best Original Song. Duh. #4 The Oscars have shown interest in Gaga by allowing her to perform the Sound of Music tribute (that performance became the most tweeted and ranked the one of the best in Oscar performances history) and she somehow got a nomination in 2016 through TIHTY.
