Their reviews on Imdb, RT, and MC show they actually got generally positive reviews by both critics and audiences. They just weren't hailed like the original Alien series. It's my favorite movie ever though. I can speak verbatim the entire movie. It's ultra-dated and cheesy compared to today's standards, but I don't care. I've loved it ever since I saw first saw it when I was 7 years old in 1984 alone in my parents' basement. I used to walk to my high school years later and always roleplay in my head that Michael Myers was lurking behind me someplace. WTF was wrong with me? I stopped carrying a bookbag (as we called them back then) because the girls in the movie didn't use them (they were considered "uncool"). This is embarrassing, but oh well, true life.
