Sonic Colors was the one time they only focused on Sonic, barring spin-offs, but they added the gimmick to his gameplay, being the wisps. Like, he's kinda hack and slash, they didn't want to give him too much speed but enough that it's still fast, he has a grappling hook that just comes out whenever. It all felt rather directionless, like, they liked the idea of a player made character, but didn't think through the best way to execute it. I do enjoy Sonic 3D games, but not as much now as I did the older ones, such as the Adventure Games or Sonic Heroes. Probably a big reason I play these games is out of nostalgia, but it's untrue to say that's the only reason I enjoy them. Any maybe it's not the games controls I'm having a problem with rather than the Switch itself, because "sticky controls" was my same complaint about Super Mario Odyssey. The games I have played on the Switch up until now haven't really required any sort of finesse. TL;DR They have the potential to be good, but the newer releases tend to fall short.
