When you press jump and hold it when you're making a turn then you drift. The colour of the sparks of your drift change depending on how long you hold the drift. When you let go of drift after you've gotten sparks then you get a boost. Blue: small boost Yellow: medium boost Red: large boost Purple: largest boost Drifting makes making some turns a lot smoother and you can maintain your speed while doing those turns instead of having to slow down and then turn which can take ages, so take some time to practice drifting Also if you're about to come off of a ramp if you press jump right as you're leaving it then you'll do a stunt that gives you a speed boost as well Give this a watch: Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think it will be a kanto remake. they want to maximize sales on switch and gen1ners + the rest will be satisfied. They also want to sell kanto merch and the anime is drawing relation to kanto . His exitment is almost convincing but he wasnt right about everything in the past. However he is a good source of news when the pokemon company moves. It could be an informed leak; could also be someone at the magazine who just assumed the next game would be Gen 8, so that's what they put in print. Especially that the Switch hardware allows developpers to create a lot of new and exciting features.
