Gaga screamed in ScheiBe?

The "owww" parts, at 0:02 and again at 1:39 lol.

Also, it's only in the live performance, but honourable mention:

I wish she had a scream there in the official version! Right when it goes silent before the beat returns.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I agree but i dont think gaga is screaming in perfect illusion...

she's belting...which is different from screaming (I would say the scream in Bloody Mary, some parts in Swine and the verse in Aura (Boris demo) are screamed :lolly:

People dont know the difference between belting and screaming, thats the issue in some cases. Some times its also how you scream. It may sound too "technical" but there is an actual right way of screaming and it involved a good technique. Most singer just actually scream like a normal person so it doesnt sound as pleasent.

I personally enjoy when artists scream a few times in their music, it gives more emotion!

It may be screaming, but the emotions won't be the same. Even David Bowie and a lot of rock classics scream. I love it when Gaga and Chris Stapleton belts it out.

And this performance  All you "screaming singing" haters did not deserve this performance.

This isn't screaming though. Here, she is doing very well supported, controlled belting. On the other hand, a lot of Kesha's screams in Praying are unsupported and damaging to the voice (though it still sounds pretty good). But in this clip, the fact that Gaga is able to maintain a strong vibrato while doing the "screaming" shows that its more controlled than it may sound and is not screaming. A perfect example of a real screamer is Christina Aguilera.

Gaga belts in most of her current songs (the only one in Joanne that she doesn't is A-YO). Screaming =/= belting. She screams in Swine and the Angel Down work tape. She gets near there in PI, MANiCURE, and Dope, and live performances of TIHTY, Y&I, etc when she gets emotional. She has a great belt and uses it well.

On the other hand, some artists do scream because they do not know how to properly belt. By doing so, they're damaging their vocal chords....so good luck to them.

Been a long time but I'm back in town, and this time I'm not leaving without you

I actually think ppl who scream get acclaimed. Gaga is always acclaimed in songs she tends to enter a more screechy pitch. Also Kesha's song is being praised to the high horses mainly because of her raw vocal delivery and her screams.

Personally I enjoy them because they transfer the emotions necessary to paint a picture. It is the easiest way to showcase rage. However at times it can get overwhelming.

Pop song vocals are often lacking in dynamics and pop fans and critics have come to expect that.  So any actual dynamics throws them off.

Perfect Illusion is a masterpiece and to anyone else who thinks differently well they can shove their thoughts somewhere :reductive::poot:

Screaming is one way to truly express emotion in the song.

If some of you felt that Gaga's vocal in PI is unbearable, then that's the real purpose of the song.
