Kesha.

Okay, I'm usually one to not be salty or dramatic about too many things on Gagadaily, but idk, this might be different.

I honestly couldn't believe some people on this website were sleeping on her before Praying. She has proved time and time again that she's a talented musician and she just proved to us again that we aren't worthy. She legit dropped one of the best songs I've ever heard with beautiful, stunning visuals to accompany it.

I honestly think she has a real shot at snatching a Grammy for Song or Album of the Year if the rest of Rainbow has the same amazing quality that she showed here, @ me all you want, idc.

Okay, rant done. Love you guys.

Now, stream Praying, buy it, watch the video, etc, if you have good taste. Good night/afternoon/morning. :applause::flutter:

Although on second though, if Kesha took the Grammy I'd be just as happy, and I think this song means more to her. And she needs it more than Gaga. And she wants it more.

I'm stressed because what if she comes for Million Grammy's wig???

They're both great.

I do have to say that Praying, imo, is such a powerful, versatile song. I wouldn't mind if it won over MR. I'd be happy with either of them winning though, don't get me wrong, I seriously love them both so much.

The high note alone really curved my general impression of her. I also hate that I've slept on her talent- I've always generally enjoyed her music, but never knew she was this good, sans that one old folk song of hers.

3 points in and ready for more

I don't blame anyone for sleeping on her because her previous work was restrictive in terms of allowing her to show of her songwriting, musical influences and her voice. There was unreleased stuff that was awesome and she had some great performances that distinguished herself from the rest of her contemporaries (her BBMA performance being the one that stands out to me) but album wise it was autotune, 'vapid' lyrics and generic production.

It's not that it was her fault, we all know about the circumstances, but it's hard to blame people for sleeping on Kesha when the majority of what they were exposed to was this autotuned voice and narrow sonic landscape.

Praying is the best song she has ever released imo. It's not her 'catchiest' song and, although doing well, won't blow up in the way Tik Tok did - but that is kinda irrelevant really.

She is less restricted artistically as she once was, which has allowed her to shine creatively and create music that she really wants to make and that in turn has allowed many people for the first time to see what she is capable of.

Haha, at least you saw the light, that's all that matters, welcome to the Kesha appreciation club!

True, I'm not gonna deny that her single choices didn't show off the best of what she could offer. At the same time, I feel like people on this website like to look at deep cuts of albums more often that the GP.

Wonderland, Love Into The Light, and Past Lives (all off of Warrior) are great examples of the work she could accomplish when she can have more creative control. It can just be irritating when people can't see the greatness that I can see. I feel like everyone has had that struggle, especially when trying to convince people to take Gaga seriously haha. :derpga:

I didn't mean to sound vicious or mean in my original post, sorry if it came off that way .

Well, I haven't been sleeping.  I have been an Animal for years and lived in total frustration that she hasn't been able to release new music.  Praying is a great song, and I hope it reaches #1 because it will make her feel happy after all the sadness she has endured.

I live outside the space time continuum.

No you didn't sound mean or anything in your first post dw

Yeah, I get what you mean, it reminds me of Gaga actually. I can't remember what interview it was around C2C when she was asked if she was kinda annoyed people didn't know she could sing like that and she was like "Well, I can't really be mad at people for not knowing when the work I've put out so far doesn't really highlight that".

It's sort of similar to Kesha I think, like I'd heard some deeper cuts, some unreleased stuff and I knew she had talent it's just that it was sort of drowned out by the singles and this image that restricted her ability to really shine.

I mean Machine Gun Love and Dirty Love were great tracks too, and again imo among her best work, but it was nothing that would have been featured on her album... Honestly that was a huge barrier for me getting into her - like I could see that she had talent, had balls and was unique but it's hard to really get into someone when what you like about them is only offered in glimpses.

100% agree.

I've been sleeping on her, but since she's released this song, I've officially become a fan of her and her work. I knew her songs, but to be quite frank, I wasn't aware that she was a good singer at all before hearing this song.

It's opened my eyes to see that (hopefully) with this new album, she'll do more authentic and raw music. Yeah, most her stuff is auto-tune, and restricted in terms of what she can do artistically speaking, and I think most of what we saw from her in the past was more of a product than the actual Kesha.

Excited to see what this album has in store for us!
