She makes cute catchy pop hits, and I think in that aspect she's good at what she does. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎

TheWitness 3,630
I'd say she lost popularity for being hillarys right hand woman which turned off non-Hillary supporters Also her feud with Swift didn't work in her favour as Swift reacted earlier and painted her in a bad light so she lost a lot of probably fans to Swift Also she is still doing dance pop which isn't very popular at the minute so tipping Charts will be difficult And then there's massive ageism and sexism in BB100 Also her haircut put people off Sad thought she would be the one to save the pop girls Host Of Lyricasism
StrawberryBlond 14,828
I knew this would be a flop for her before the first single was even released. All the signs were there. 3 flop singles off a 'hit album', still getting mixed reception, still no Grammys, still no artistic growth, still keeping things generic and kid-friendly. The charts are a different game now and we want something a bit more adult, a bit more real. Problem is, the world has never been here for Katy's ballads, so it's not like she could pull it off. It all added up to a catch 22 situation. If she remained with the bubblegum pop, she'd flop. If she went mature, she'd flop. So it didn't matter what way she went. Her fans couldn't see it coming, surprisingly enough. But...it's the extent to which she flopped that blew me away. Everything went to s**t after the lead single. We've been comparing this era to AP but hell, Witness sold less than Joanne's first week despite Joanne not even having a top ten hit at that point. She bundled her album in with tour tickets for the US leg and even then she still debuted with less than 200k sales. She's giving away 8000 tickets for her Australian tour which only has 7 arena dates as it is. Her album hasn't even peaked in the top 5 in some countries that she's touring in. Her album slipped 5 places the week after she performed at Glastonbury (which was only its second week of charting, Dolly Parton did better than that after she performed there). Her critical reception is worse than it was for Prism, her second-worst album score ever. The way this is going, I don't even know if any Grammy nominations are going to come out of this. Then there was the unexpected ways she seemed to be sabotaging herself like cutting her hair in an unflattering cut and embarrassing herself in how she dressed and acted. The whole thing was utterly unprecedented. How she's going to fare for the next album is going to be the really interesting part. But I fully expect her to go back to her roots, wearing strawberry-print playsuits, playing acoustic guitar and asking people to call her Katy Hudson. I think she can only operate on 2 extremes - generic pop or vulnerable ballads. Neither of which is working out for her anymore. Therefore, I don't think she can have a comeback. I don't think there's anywhere left for her to go. She's already given us the ultimate creativity she can muster and even then, we still don't want it. She should just be content with keeping her fans happy and making the music she likes now because this is the end of her as a huge name in pop music, so there's no point in trend-hopping anymore. It just makes her look like even more of a flop.

Singing about trash bags, kissing girls and fireworks was cute at 26. But at 33 she comes off like she's desperately trying to appeal to the kids and most people find her uncool. Her sex appeal was a big part of her image too. but since our society discard women after they turn 30 and she cut her hair people don't find her hot anymore. She's more like that mom from mean girls who lives vicariously through her daughters. Oh yeah, Her going to so hard for Hillary turned A LOT of people off. I've seen so many people drag her for being a Hillary supporter. Even less than her literal age is her haircut which, unfortunately, is a little mom-ish as well

Furrrealzjuan 137
Honestly views on YouTube doesn't count for anything anymore. If having 300+million views = success then good for her. But it should be about buying songs/albums/ music. Since she couldn't really do that this era I would say yes to it being a flop. (Congrats on that #1 album though) and she is is one of the the worst singers out there. We need to start supporting those artist out there with talent. Katsuki Bakugo 9,788
Too much of a good thing. Too much of the same thing and never seeing any vulnerability in her music. People got bored. It's not as calculated or "planned" as people might think. She is having her flop moment. This devines if she is ready to come back and slay (aka C2C and Joanne eras) and not care about charts or if she will make more music for 14 yr olds but is like 40!
